I am in the real world. Its just hilarious you accept projects go over no matter what.. That's why they continue to go over because these companies know they can make millions more off government contracts. But then again the labour government accept is back as donations to get re-elected.

Yes I agree having too much going on at once will cause issues. That is part of the reason they will lose not disagreeing with that But to carry on about any project being over budget like it's the end of the world shows me some people don't understand how it works but think they do.

I think they call it managing the pipeline. It’s a bit hot at the moment, but some projects will run down.

That's a different concept to net debt.

Net debt is what the state owes and when measured as a percentage of the state economy it started to rise sharply in 2017/2018. In 2016/2017 it represented 3.6%. By 2019/2020 it rose to 9,4%, and in 2024/2025 it is at 24.5%

The government is predicting a budget surplus by 2025/2026 but its net debt will still be rising.

That was always going to happen when your pumping money into infrastructure, the alternative was to continue to do nothing or incrementally go to work on the issues, Labor's issue ( And I haven't denied this) is too many fingers in too many pies. I honestly believe without obsessing over the SRL at the wrong time they could have won the next election but it's tipped things over the edge in terms of managing the money and now they are scrambling to save face. It's been arrogant and not the way to do it and they will get what they deserve at the election.

Every major project in living memory anywhere runs over budget. Have you been living under a rock something?, It's the cost benefit to the community that matters and that's what I have an issue with regarding the SRL, I couldn't care less about projects running over budget as long as you get what your supposed to out of it. I have no issue with CityLink (Kennett's major legacy) because it achieves results. Pretty sure that ran over budget but nobody complains about it. You have this obsession with debt and things being over budget and it's blinding your opinion.

Managed to throw using ropes and chains at protests into the mix, to water down the effectiveness of protest.

Not sure I've seen that used in proximity to synagogues, mosques or in the Pro-Palestine protests, but they've chucked it in there anyway.

Say nurses wanted to gather on the steps of parliament house to call for more funding for public hospitals, because visibility and putting pressure on politicians goes hand in hand.

This legislation could be used to stop that action.

It amazes me how happily ignorant people are about what protesting is about and why governments are happily legislating against it.

How much people think it won't impact them in the future.
