Must be on more $ than people realise.Just incredible if true that he was asked to explore his options.
Yet another casualty of the club paying big money on potential then tossing them to the curb because we can’t get them going to our “style”. Starting to think this might be a trend.
Wants to join the Cats apparently
Doesn't like cold weather but wants to go to Geelong as he's keen on becoming a property developer, a can't fail property developer, the type they have lots of at Geelong.
Hawks or Crows
Who is this fella John Doe?
Close enough!Cairns
Heard he's already found 6 townhouses down that way for a whopping $100 eachLol how does Geelong have cap space to absorb a cap dump. Or is it true as suggested above that Bowes is an astute property developer.
No silly, that’s why he wants to get to the cats. To learn property development!Lol how does Geelong have cap space to absorb a cap dump. Or is it true as suggested above that Bowes is an astute property developer.
I’ll give him $300 for the lotHeard he's already found 6 townhouses down that way for a whopping $100 each
Two of their best 22 are Close and Atkins both on rookie deals. Stengle would also not be on very much money at all.Lol how does Geelong have cap space to absorb a cap dump. Or is it true as suggested above that Bowes is an astute property developer.
Thought they reserved those kind of deals for the real champions like Tom '300k a season' Hawkins and Paddy 'I probably get paid a house a year' Dangerfield?I’ll give him $300 for the lot
So is it a salary dump? If so, pick 23 and future 2nd for Rankine and Bowes...Shoulder reco before season started.
We would've had a heap of cap space opening up this year and next. We've got almost nobody in their peak earning years of 25-28.Lol how does Geelong have cap space to absorb a cap dump. Or is it true as suggested above that Bowes is an astute property developer.
Mate, how many retirements do you think the cats have on the horizon? Half the 22 won't be playing in 24 monthsLol how does Geelong have cap space to absorb a cap dump. Or is it true as suggested above that Bowes is an astute property developer.

They don't historically pay their players a lot. Shaun Higgins retired (I don't imagine he was on a lot). Joel Selwood could retire after Saturday (most Cats fans I've spoken to believe regardless of the result he will be finished). Luke Dahlhaus is on 500k per season and his contract is up, no chance he gets extended.
Yes - it pisses me off too just how well they've managed everything.
Cameron will still be on $1M a year for a while though, quite a big chunk out of the salary cap.We would've had a heap of cap space opening up this year and next. We've got almost nobody in their peak earning years of 25-28.
Sure we need to bump up the pay of some younger players but compared to Danger, Selwood, Hawkins, Blicavs, Tuohy and Duncan moving out of their peak earnings years it'll be small change. Bruhn and Henry aren't exactly big money signings. If we were really considering Grundy, De Goey and Hopper then we'll have a ton of space for Bowes.
That's one player and most teams have someone on a similar amount or more. If you go through player by player I don't see why we would have less cap space in the coming years than Richmond with Martin, Lynch and Bolton and they're able to fit Hopper and Taranto. We should easily be able to fit Henry, Bruhn and Bowes if they want to come.Cameron will still be on $1M a year for a while though, quite a big chunk out of the salary cap.
He won't have many friends left after 2024 thoughCameron will still be on $1M a year for a while though, quite a big chunk out of the salary cap.
