You're very naive if you think the players are going to tell the truth about this situation in a press conference
Unless your name is Doc Rivers or Joel Embid who basically threw Ben Simmons under the bus for the Sixers being eliminated against the hawks last year. That ended with Simmons requesting a trade request.

I don’t recall another instance of throwing team mates under the bus although im sure there’s a few crackers floating around

Be interesting to see how he goes at the nets

I was chatting to a mate the other day who’s pretty good on the inside word and he reckons Jack Darling’s lawyers also sent Nisbett a cease and desist letter that included a cryptic message

“The path of the centre half forward is beset on all sides by the inequities of the forward pocket and the tyranny of missed tackles. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the ball through the corridor, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of clean inside fifties. And I will ninja flip upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my chest marks. And you will know my name is the JD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.”

You just know that he's not going to play away against Philli either which is coming up, I barely watch the sport but wouldn't miss that game.
Any chance that the Nets and Philli could meet in the play offs?
No chance he plays there this year. Could see him skipping games there for the next few years

Getting a bit off topic here, but surely you can’t get paid $35m a year to play basketball and also get to pick and choose which games you want to play and which arenas you want to play in.

I mean his new team mate has hardly played this year and can't play home games because he's Jack Darling'd himself. Not playing against his old team because they're likely to boo him out of the building is a drop in the ocean compared to that

As Dom Sheed said the other day “It’s his decision ... everybody has got a decision whether they want to get the vaccine or not and he has decided not to so I don’t think we can be disappointed in that. We support him and what he wants to do. It’s hard to support his decision, but we support him as an individual.”

Where do you get this 'loss of trust from the rest of the team' from?

naive is not just a river in Ethiopia

Have you seen how utterly soft and precious NBA players are nowadays?

Simmons gets called out for not having a jump shot (true). Gets called out for not improving his game (True) and gets called out for being afraid to dunk on a guy who's half his size (True).

Does he take that criticism and work on his failings?

No, he throws a giant tantrum and forces his way out of Philly despite having signed a huge contract.

It's pathetic.

When the day arrives that he can play, who thinks we should trade him and pay some of his salary for a few good draft picks ..

Who thinks Darling will have much trade value after sitting out an entire season? He'll be 30-31 going into next season. Not to mention, every other club will be wary because of his behaviour -- even if there isn't another coronavirus variant and things settle down on that front, every club knows that Darling is more likely to get his medical advice from Facebook and quacks than their own professionals. AND he is willing to be litigious when he doesn't get his own way.

On top of that, Darling will be under contract meaning he has to agree to any trade deal. And unless Freo are willing to go after him, any trade deal involves him moving interstate... which seems unlikely unless he got a really good deal. So who would pay him more than the $750k per year than he is currently getting?

To top it off, West Coast are looking at a horror season if early injuries are any indication. Imagine sitting on the sidelines for the entire season, through your own choice, while guys are working their arses off doing injury rehab so they can get back into the side and contribute. And every so often, after we get smashed, you can bet there'll be questions in the media around whether Darling would have made a difference. So everyone will have a constant reminder that he's not playing... again, through his own choice.

No way he commands "a few good draft picks" by the end of the season.

JD is apparently a distant teammate with few friends at the club. Most will miss him on field, but I think very few players will miss him otherwise.

He's done at WC.

I have to agree. And as well people keep comparing him to Rioli, and how he was welcomed back into the fold, well, sorry, they are completely different cases.
Bye, JD. Thanks for 2018.

Is that the word on the street?

I was out a few months ago at PICA bar in early December and half your squad was there. Around a dozen or so senior players. Shuey, Kennedy, Darling, Sheed and others.

JD was buying beers on his own.

I'm not reading into it, but it does kind of line up with the comment above.
