Interesting point. Years ago I raised the question as to why we were so good at making finals but not winning the big one. 76ws suggested it was the home ground advantage of Vic Park. Now, of course, some want to take a swing because our home ground is the ground. They have been a successful club, I hope the help the AFL gives them will be dealt with come finals time. I just hate their success.

Gee I post some rubbish sometimes.

I’ve moved on from that and have different theories now

(Probably just as silly :) )

Seriously mate, get a grip. Have seen the photo and whilst it was certainly not clever, if you think that points to him missing a final, you need to find a new hobby.

A more disturbing photo was the selfie some liniment-sniffer posted of himself with a player immediately after a season-ending loss. That shows a complete lack of respect. You are lucky you weren't told to fk off.

Are you stupid? I was just suggesting that he WILL cop flack this week from media and people on social media. He might want the week off after struggling with mental health issues. He’s 19, the last thing he needs his more scrutiny.

Not that I have to justify what I post on MY account. However, most of the fans ran onto the ground to get a photo or signature of the player. It’s not that serious mate, it’s football and a photo. If you don’t like it, go to the next post.

Well you've been categorically wrong there. Not a peep, beyond outrage-seeking Murdoch rags.

For someone for whom 'the last thing he needs is more scrutiny', he sure does seem to invite more than his fair share of it. However, I like to believe that he does not have mental health issues because he is a strong character able to rise above the scrutiny he creates. He won't want a week off! What sort of message would that send to people hoping for a reaction from him?

And I’m glad. I was just suggesting a 19 year old being slammed on social media for a “photo” may need the week off to recover.

If his mental health is struggling, I rather him take the week off than worry about a final.

Thanks mate, I'm pretty informed about historical matters, and the kindest term I can think of for what you've written is gibberish.

Medical science was used to create a system of industrial-scale slaughter: no s***.

This is rather different from saying that the Jews walked to their deaths because of a 'faith in science'. The death camps also had human ashes pouring from chimneys and soldiers and German Shepherds lining the path from train to chamber.

Those poor people were under no illusion about their fate; what they did or didn't believe about science had nothing whatsoever to do with it.

Many of the Jews in the Holocaust didn't die in chambers, they were gunned down in the fields of Eastern Europe as the Germans advanced towards Russia. Do you think they believed they were going out to do a spot of farming?

What you've written is offensive.
Really missing the big red thumb right now.

So you think if his mental health is struggling, he should play anyways?
I don't believe his mental health is struggling and if by chance it is I do believe he should put on a brave face and hit the G with the boys on Saturday. I cannot imagine his MH would be improved by sitting out his first final. Also just imagine the reaction of our opponents when he withdraws from a game because of a photo. Every future game he plays he would be plagued by taunts and comments. It's inconceivable that he would opt to watch the final against Geelong from the stands.

Jack seems to be a mentally robust kid with a phd in trolling. Great asset as a player for our club and last time we met the Dankbots he got under the skin of The Bleeding Duck.

We threw that game away with poor kicking and a last quarter brainfreeze. These are both areas we've addressed since then. Selwood is still a whining little duck and Geelong are a little bit allergic to finals pressure.

Not sure what the discussion about science is all about.

People do science. If people do science stupidly then its because people are stupid, if people do science corruptly its because people are corrupt, and you dont need science to know that.

People also vote for Trump, or Dan, or ScoMox and they "do their own research" on Facebook.

People are bloody stupid, and I should know, I'm a people.

Given the complete lack of traction the phone received, it is self-evident that suggesting it was going to cause him to need a week off was alarmist speculation.

All your second paragraphs proves is that there was more than one liniment-sniffer in attendance.

You could be excused for assuming a degree of excitement at the biggest match since 2019 would be sweeping our board. I bet down in kitty litter land they are purring over the demolition job they imagine will occur on Saturday. I suspect a deep fear of the colliwobbles is to blame. Thankfully I doubt this is in mccrae or ginni's DNA.

Putrid is putting in kindly how he played.

Genuinely wouldn't have even known he was out their needs to lift and find other ways to get involved in the game other than scoring.
Thought some of his kicks around the ground really helped us. Was not helped by an invisible CHF

Harsh.

Obviously wasn’t his best game, but he worked back in defence and played his role in our pressure game.
