He is super smart and quick thinking. For me that makes it more frustrating that he's going all or nothing in his attempt to win frees- which jsut aren't going to come his way at the moment. He needs to be smart enough to know to just play the ball and stop putting himself out of contests. Regardless of whether the frees should or shouldn't be paid - they're not getting paid, so play the ball and look to dish off..

He has been doing much less of it Sr36 then he was.

He probably was too smart for his own good with Toohey, imo he knew he couldn't do toohey for pace and if took possesion likely loses it to htb, so went for the sneaky play looking for the hold or high without the ball.

I sound like someone who thinks it's bullshit the way this whole thing has played itself out.
I really couldn't give 2 fks what you think of my defending of him and pointing out the ridiculous calls against paying him rightful frees.

There's enough voices out there giving it to Jack over dives and flopping etc on top of the physical targeting, so it doesn't hurt for his supporters to go to bat for him.

What's sad is pies fans jumping on the boat of the ******* interpretation changes and consequently thinking he is fair game because of it.
That response indicates, if not 2, you might at least give 1 as to what I think. Keep punching.

Did anyone else appreciate the double-handed knock-on to Crisp that resulted in our last score?
People can say what they like about him but the kid has a super footy IQ. I just rewatched the replay and his coolness under pressure is amazing. That said, he probably should/could have kicked 2 goals (A shank in the 2nd and a quick snap in the last)

Check out his foot tap to degoey in the center was very fast thinking only degoey also wasn't ready for it and it dribbled past him. Q1 start of game ginni comes off chf.

That interview Jen posted, he stated himself he has been doing a lot less with the high contact plays than what he was.

He will evolve, as others have pointed out, His Football IQ is one of the best. Extremely clever footballer. We are well placed with him and Naicos in the team for a long while yet

The only upside to all of this crap around Ginnivan is that we can now stop thinking that the rest of the comp has developed a warm spot for Collingwood in the Mc Crae era. Business as usual has returned and it really is us against them!

Stick it up 'em - Ginnivan for 3 goals this weekend
I don't know why any Collingwood supporter over the age of 30 would ever believe that it was not us against the world.

Has always been that way, is now that way and always will be that way.

On the basis of ?

well those guys were a little spaced out and a bit too analytical for me... I dont think the usual guys that ginnivan would hang out with in central vic would think about anything more than the next drink and the next girl they couldnt hook up with.

There was also a toe tap intended for Elliott in the last that just had a bit too much speed on it

I don't care that Ginnivan plays for frees. But it's to our detriment at the moment. He was in the box seat to pick up the ball. He had his hands ready to collect. Then he suddenly stopped and bent forward looking for the in the back or not in possession, when that didn't come he tried to turn it into around the neck - meanwhile the Cats just picked up the ball and swept it away. He's got to play the ball first and foremost and if he can get a free whilst in possession and also looking to dish off - great work - which is why Selwood has been so good, it's never been free or nothing with Selwood - if the free doesn't come, he's still in the contest playing footy - Ginnivan is stepping out of the contest in an all or nothing attempt to get a free.

I was going to post something like this about a dozen times but no one wants to hear it. But thanks for saving me the trouble. The lesson is that the umpires make the decisions. You can whinge all around the block and then do another 5 laps and that wont change the situation. Umpires do not like his current approach. That is the reality.

Agreed - he has tools to be dangerous beyond drawing frees. Think he might have been sucked into purely hunting for frees last week.

This should not be a hard thing for coaches / senior players to help him with - he's got footy smarts - a few words of advice needed - not as if it's a whole new game plan or some complex formula to get his head around. Keep it simple ffs.

So after everything he’s put up with this year already, now he has to put up with lectures from sanctimonious blowhards like Dangerfield too.

**** me, where was the “duty of care” players were showing Ginnivan all year as they ripped his head off?

Redman, Corr, Atkins, Selwood, Tuohy, and many more have not given one flying **** about the kid’s well-being and let’s not forget Switkowski who actually did do a chicken wing tackle, whereas Ginnivan on Dangerfield was only looked dicey because of Adams cannoning in. Switkowski actively tried to hurt Ginnivan, but we didn’t get any holier than thou bullshit from Dangerfield and Robbo then, did we?

“Hope he learns from it”…

**** off Dangerfield, all we learnt is what a hypocritical, pathetic piece of shit you are.

Also forgot about that Richmond nobody who punched him in the back of the head…didn’t hear much from “Mr. Duty of care, president of the AFLPA” that day did we???

God I hope Ginnivan kicks a bag this week. The media and other clubs would hate that the most.
Give them hell, Jack!

The perfect scenario is we get another shot at the cats and with 45 seconds on the clock and the Costa Living Super team 1 pt to the good, Danger gives away a free kick to Ginni 70m out. Danger loses his s@#t, turns t the umpire and screams "don't you know who I am?"
The resultant 50m penalty sees Danger marched to 20m out directly in front. Ginni kicks his 3rd and the siren goes.
An hour after the game, Ginni is asked what he thought of Danger's tantrum.
Our man gives that cheeky grin and answers "I hope he learns from it."

1.He ginnivan initially grabs it in with 1 hand on tooheys wrist (After toohey tackles him without the ball) then let's go, (first free kick holding the man).

2. He then re grabs him double handed as seen in stills, now whether this is Ginni holding him in or reaction to toohey tightening of said headlock is anyone's guess. This can be deemed 50/50.

3.He then let's go just before they hit the ground toohey falls with him.

4 . Toohey then rolls him over onto his back, toohey is not being held here (he let go as they fell) both ginnivans arms up in air.
Should of let go before/instead of rolling him the fact it continues is a free kick, still high, still holding the man. (2nd free kick).

5. Toohey now rolls him back over continues to seat the head lock and holds ginnivan down in a 🐕 style position. (This is the 3rd action and free kick).

6. Releases ginninvan and gives him one to go on with, a forearm to face. (4th free kick).

So whilst your initial point that ginnivan helped him maybe true it does not and should not give players free reign there forwards or impunity to continue to manhandle opponents.
There were at least 4 payable free kicks in that passage.

I saw him help toohey seat it from the start it's not new info, it's just irrelevant info because it didn't end there.
4 free kicks. I just looked at it again a few times in real time. We are all overanalysing this. It was over in 1-2 seconds, it was a minor incident. No comment were made, no suggestions of a free in the commentary. Ginny gave Tuohy a good push over after and less than a minute late took a mark in the forward 50. Pity he didnt goal.

Ginny is a protagonist. This was normal footy push and shove. You have your Collingwood goggles on. Dont worry for Ginny he is a beauty and will thrive.

Pity they wont make the GF so we will have to knock Melb over instead. That's a better senario anyway. Love to see Sleepy Hollow asleep on the 24th while we drown the Dees

But Danger has no issue with the choke by Tuhoey on Ginnivan which was far more dangerous - give me a break.
Just Pathetic
Pardon the intrusion.
Danger Mouse also seems to have forgotten that a great exponent of the type of tackle he complains about was Joel, er er er, forgot his last name, but anyway, a teammate of his.
One looks forward to the Great Man and his contributions to the media in coming years.

Wouldn't say Adams cannoned in. I'd say Danger was on his knees with an arm pinned so thrust forward into the turf hoping for an in the back free.
