He does have a bit of swagger about him and yes I probably would not enjoy it from an opposing player but he plays for us and I have no problem with him or his celebrations which I think may infuriate many in the future, he is quite a talent and very young still.

Just wait till he has 50 games up he will really be hated by other teams fans because he can really play, he is also only a couple months older than N Daicos who they will also hate because he will become very good and they do not like that from our players but stuff them they do not do us any favours.
Ippy they never have liked any form of success from us so I will thoroughly enjoy the tears and whinges from the likes Cornes and many others because for 5 decades I have listened to it and they deserve to suffer from our success as much as possible.

He’s just creating content. In my day we ran when someone pulled out a camera, these days the kids start posing. Different generation.

I like that Ginny took the mark, went back taking his full 30 seconds, then slotted it. Many others would have panicked (or failed to make the distance). That was all I needed to see.

The Guinea Pig is a snag kicking, bird flipping, smart ar$e little mongrel and Imhappily putting the 33 on my little boys back!!! He will be a jet. Over the off-season the coaching staff made a comment along the lines of ‘one of the highest football IQ’s’ at the club. Get on board the Ginni train folks tooooot toooot

It was annoying that BT said he was admiring himself on the big screen. He was clearly watching the countdown clock.

One of the commentators, probably Brian Taylor, said on the commentary that Giinivan enjoys looking at himself on the screen. Maybe he is narcissistic or is thriving on his new found celebrity, or just simply trying to milk enjoyment from every moment of his AFL experience.

I don't have a problem with the guy exuding a bit of personality on the field, even if he appears arrogant or up himself or whatever, so long as he plays for Collingwood. Akermanis, Brereton, Capper and now Toby Greene annoy me and I am sure get under the skin of their opponents, but they're all great players capable of helping win premierships.

I buy the line that the videoing was a club rather than personal decision.

It looked a bit quick for him at times, but he still contributed - good job and he'll get better.
Round 1 is always fast paced. I remember when Ollie played round 1 last year, the pace was too much for him. But Jack has a little more time to adjust.

It's not like we haven't had a few of these types at the club before. Alan Didak and Alex Fasolo are prime examples from the last decade or so. Defo up themselves, but the arrogance made them the players they were (though I'll admit Fasolo at times showed an arrogance that simply outweighed his talent, whereas Didak could always back it up).

Clicking on this type of BS is what undid our club last year, and what distracts from winning games of football. It’s best to just ignore the noise.

I see nothing wrong with it in todays context, not my cup of tea but times are changing.

Impressed with how this lad has progressed, but as I stated on another thread I think he could do with some game time in the twos at some point.

He’s bubbly, exuberant, annoying, and in your face. But if he continues to kick goals and play his role in the forward line, then he can get away with it. We don’t want a tentative or unhappy looking kid - let him develop naturally and keep hold of these attributes.

I want him to tell Kane Cornes to SYFU on social medya.
Would be gold.

I think when BT said that about him Ginni was actually checking the countdown clock for his set shot. Typical BT BS.

Don’t agree with Cornes in the slightest, nothing wrong with enjoyment and promoting the club. I do however agree that the phrase “light work” etc is a bit to cocky and disrespectful. I think we need to ensure it’s a bit more professional and have a balance.

Yep, that comment is way out of line and will only give the saints more fuel next time we play them. No afl team is ever light work, the boys worked their assess off and only won by a small margin.

its a common phrase for kids his age, we dont play the saints again this year.. awful long time to hold a grudge over a teenage catch phrase

BTs version is more entertaining.
I suspect it's probably closer to the truth too. In any case, I couldn't care less if he fancies watching himself on the big screen. Many players check themselves out or watch their goals or marks in replays. I am sure I would do exactly the same in their situation.
