Does anyone know (maybe a lurking Brisbane fan) what Redden's character is like?

Is he ultra professional like Priddis or is he just your average AFL player?

I'm assuming he's not in the McGovern or Wellingham mould.

He's a bit of a larrikin, but ultra professional. He will fit right in at the club, have read on here that he'll come straight in and do the grunt work which is accurate. He's not flashy, just a solid contributor.

Tackle machine isn't he?

Very very pleased with this addition.

Will add much needed grunt to the midfield.

Window is open, this is a trade that keeps it ajar.

Welcome Jack.

Redden is also one of our replacements for Priddis when he retires in the next couple years until players like Waterman, Nelson etc. fully develop.

Nelson isn't an inside mid doe

I think it was 2013 that we received some criticism about our small inside mids (I think we were running Masten through there at the time).

Soon we'll be able to have a centre square with Yeo and Redden. I hope that they do a Mighty Ducks bash brothers impression.
Maybe we should target Rockliff next year?

I'm very interested to hear the circumstances of the Redden trade, given that he presumably has no links to WA other than Yeo.

Did we sound him out initially, or did he come to us?

It's a fairly unique coup for the club because we've seldom attracted interstate players and seem to rarely target contracted players.

BOND 007 anything you're able to say?

Anyway, really like this trade. Should give us a good succession plan to Priddis, as well as some more size in the midfield.
It's a crude way of looking at it, but adding Redden's contested ball winning and tackling pressure to the 22 should help offset Jetta's deficiencies in that area (assuming we pick him up).

What's this about targeting?

Pretty sure Redden chose us.
Some say we headhunted him.

And by some I mean one random poster on the Lions board.

That'll do pig, that'll do.
