Stick a fork in both of them, more 30 year olds aren't shifting gear for us. If we're honest adding Jack Steven adds zero value to this football club, he's not in our next premiership side, he'd only be inhibiting the development of kids who might be.

He cost Travis Varcoe. One of our less level headed decisions and one I think will inform this trade valuation

Now that Tim Kelly is 100% certain to leave and Joel Selwood's season has been "less than great" to put it kindly, Geelong's need for Steven is desperate. Especially if -as many are predicting- Shuan Higgins re-signs with North.

St.Kilda should be able to extract AT LEAST a first rounder out of Geelong under those circumstances. Particularly considering Beams & Gibbs fetched two 1sts. Of course this is St.Kilda were talking about, so a third rounder plus a half-eaten packet of twisties is probably more likely.

Saint's will extract nothing of the sort. Just because we have a problem doesn't make Steven a solution. The saints aren't selling a a player that will turn that around and the cats aren't silly enough to believe they are.
