Outstanding entertainment guys. I like the banter, esp the bit where Abasi doesn't deny "making shit up" but defends that he isn't this time.

O'Meara in a corporate box with his manager and Hawks on GF day is just about the best post I've read on BF.
Think you might have named the wrong poster there.

Franklin did that with the Swans. Supposedly he agreed to come to us and we were working with his manager for a full year to get the contract right etc..... It is slightly different that O'Meara is not a free agent but it is not that big a stretch, it is not a stretch at all actually.

Oh no I am agreeing with being courted, totally realistic but I didn't exactly hear Buddy jumping into a Sydney corporate box or a Sydney function while being at Hawthorn.... unless there was a cleaner or a waitress that saw him and they paid her off?!

Well start believing...buddy! Or maybe go on a little fact finding mission so you can make up your own mind where he's going.
What is the number of the Security guard? Sound real...A fact finding mission it is...

Or perhaps elaborate, Is this Guard a mate? or just Someone you chatted to after a game and a few Bourbs?
Either way I suppose you might find the fact Cochrane said he would be happy to walk him to the draft...
Pretty sure Hawks are his Chosen club, Equally as sure Cochrane is serious so you'd best offer up overs or expect him to slide to the PSD..

Massive risk to trade for him...Time will tell..

There's only one loser in walking O'Meara to the draft and that is the Gold Coast.

Short memory mate, it's not our fault that the blues overrated their list, missed in the draft and kept topping up with the list with spuds. Hawthorn and Carlton rebuilt at exactly the same time!
Can't get over that comment! The Hawks built what we see now from having the right personal on and off the field, in a previous comment you said teams were hampered from the picks given for the expansion teams. How can Carlton be in that boat? You had the number picks 1 and 4 in 2005, 1 and

just makes me laugh when in a previous comment he was complaining how the blues suffered from the expansion teams while they were needing the picks! The Hawks built what they had from strong foundations on and off the field, to even use lack of draft picks as an excuse coming from a Carlton supporter is laughable! They had the number 1 pick from 05-07 the exact same time we were rebuilding. Carlton WAS one of the biggest clubs in the AFL and some supporters still look to blame the afl for their failures, rather than look in the mirror and see how the self combusted!
Hopefully they get it right this time around!!

Langford was part of the broadcast, cameras in his living room and whatever... yes his family were happy for him. Most of bigfooty were more interested in his mum from the looks of it.

Laverde went three picks later, his family had a table at the venue and they cheered louder than anyone that night.

Pick 17: Langford 59:45
Pick 20: Laverde 1:00:35

Just a thought, say JOM nominated Essendon and the two teams decided to go to the trade table in good faith. What would Essendom give up? Obviously they would have more leverage than anyone else.

Pics of mum please.

Honestly if this was the case, best case scenario for GC would be our pick 19 straight swap. I could also see the Hibberd pick 27 as another worse case scenario. If we were real a-holes it would be our third round pick. We would have a lot of leverage either way.

All bickering and posturing aside, players like JOM always get to their nominated club.

So the chances of him falling to the Dons via PSD after are about 1000-1,

Unless The Dons are his club of choice and there is an absolute screw job on, but the likelyness of that are also pretty long, it will not be a good for either player or club and surely AFL will step in.

Most likely what will happen is he will nominate his club of choice, there will be so tough talk spoken but a deal will get done.

GCS still have some power here for if he chooses the Hawks and they really want to make a stand and are willing to let him slide to PSD then the Hawks will pony up almost exactly what GCS wants. Especially if JOM doesn't want to go to the Dons.

If he's chosen a club then there is probably an in principle in place between JOM and said club, so it's their duty to get the deal done.

At the end of the day he will go to wherever he wants...
