Yep

If they re watch that game (which they will)and if he is found to have even given off one handball to Pendles, he is ******

I doubt it - what are they going to say? Handballing to Pendles is hardly something out of the ordinary, even if it contributes to the bet.

Doesn’t matter

He would still be influencing his possession count therefore increasing the likelihood of winning his own bet.

How good Pendles is or how much players love giving the ball to him means nothing here. He would still be directly manipulating the outcome.

Shaw, Maxwell, Crisp, Sier - doesn’t say much for the intelligence of any Collingwood player if the lesson hasn’t sunk in by now.

I dont think you can draw that conclusion definitely.

Placing a bet and influencing a result need to be proven and I dont think its possible to arrive here unless the player admits to it.

If he has placed a bet on the AFL, then thats conclusive. Whether he influenced the result, that still needs to be proven by the integrity unit. Which is much more damning on him if he has been found to do so.

If he took a bonus bet does the penalty double.

What if it was a bonus bet? Technically some of those bets, need to be turned over a few times before receiving any of it.

So basically he could have placed zero dollars of his own money on a result.

Highly doubt this is the case, but it changes things a bit here for him. Possible loophole.

I really don’t think the AFL will care that much. I’ve not said whether I agree with that stance or not.

If the bet was on a negative result for Collingwood, i.e. Pies losing, I could see them cracking down harder.

It's not just that.

Merely being at a team meeting where it is confirmed that Pendles will play on the ball as usual is inside info.

Yes, most punters can assume that. But they don't KNOW it.

That knowledge might only shift odds from say $2.20 to $2.18 but it is still inside info and still corrupt.

Not sure. Maybe they should relocate him to Tasmania and make him rattle tins as punishment.

Back on topic, I don't think the AFL will do too much, Collingwood are after all a big club.

Only small clubs get the treatment.

I’m saying they wouldn’t bother investigating minnow clubs like North or Tigers for rules infractions, wouldn’t sell papers. As if Collingwood players are the only ones dumb enough to bet on AFL.
Settle down princess
