watched 5 minutes and he had 3 kicks, turned it over twice and then shirked another contest.
Carey actually said during the commentary on the game that he is an extremely selfish player (after he kicked his second I think), and that at any good club wouldn't tolerate a few of the things he was doing. Such as not giving the ball off to players in much better position and trying to kick goals for himself etc.

He’s been on close to 1 million for the last decade, and very well paid before that… it’d be nice if he helped out and played for unders just once like so many other champions have done.
Is there any happiness in your life? Trying to pot Pendlebury on a Monday night, must have been a tough weekend

Ned Guy is 150% the Scapegoat of the true Villains at the club. The true Villain is Hine who was in charge of signing all those inflated contracts at the time, can't believe he has come out of this looking squeaky clean

On thing that has been mentioned is that many of the inflated contracts supposedly come down to players hitting kpis in 2018 which triggered bonus clauses in their next contract. If that's true, whoever set up the bonus clause system is at fault. I don't think any of us will ever know where the fault truly lies.

Well, Hine handed over the reins to Guy end 2017, so he was most likely responsible for any list decisions 2015-2017?
Footy Boss 2015-2016 Balme
Footy Boss 2017-2020 Walsh

Most if not all of the 2018 contracts would have been pre-Guy, as I don't think he was on-board until after the draft.

Add in Gubby as a possibility. Or more likely a conglomerate of them all as assumedly noone had carte blanche without needing anyone else's support - and if someone did have carte balnche - add in the President and or board for setting up such a system.

Like the old 'failsafe' point, the limit beyond which US bombers armed with nuclear bombs bound for Russia could no longer be recalled.

Yes, the waters were muddied in 2016 when Gubby arrived…in May, replaced Balme in August, gone by November.
During this time…Hine was list Manager.
We had a vacuum in our Football Department.
Changing leadership, mixed messaging? Rudderless & inexperienced (Hine as list Manager).
I think that’s when the seeds were planted for future salary cap issues.
Guy inherited that & was caught up with the ‘hold the list together’ push & recruitment of Beams.
Smother that with a layer of Covid (TPP reduction) & here we are.
The perfect storm.

If the 2018 bonuses are true, Guy's only real culpability lies in not exploding those planes over the Atlantic at the end of 2019 - at which point it was clear that our combination of players and coaches wasn't going to win the war and we would have gotten much better surrender terms.

A ‘one kick prelim final exit’ was our 2019 season end.
Finished 4th on the ladder (4 points off top).
We were still contending.

I think the result flattered us significantly in 2019. We started the year really well, but our system was found out, we then limped through the second half of the year, had a win against Geelong in our first final, who weren't particularly good that year, which gave us a top 4 finish.

You’re probably right.
Although I’m sure that Richmond were glad to see GWS put us out.

I still love Stephenson.. but my first choice was Naughton.. thought he was an athletic nut of a footballer..

That's another notch on the Gimp belt.

Am I a great or what re?
Love the look of Stephenson. He was my favourite pick after Naughton. His all star game was elite against some of the best draft prospects. I just thought we needed Naughton more and I love his Collingwood connection. Talent wise I'm extremely happy with Stephenson. He looks like JJ who is the sort of player we need. He looks driven and I think he will live and beath football, like Pendlebury or Judd. If he stays healthy he will be elite maybe even the best in the draft imo.
Made a similar call back in 2017?
