Murphy isn't quick.

Buck's comment about Stevenson being our quickest player by far is telling, especially if he only ran 2.95 over 20m. That is quick, but not lightning.

Gone are the days when we had Sinclair, Mooney, Marsh, Freeman, Swan etc all capable of going in the 2.8s.

Bucks is probably judging pace on more than a 2.9 second sprint. But yes I see your point.

Murray is though.

From what I've seen there is 0% chance Swanny was quicker than Stephenson either.

No he isn’t he’s another one pace player who’s game sense is quick.

Stephenson is one of those players that looks quicker than his 20 meter time would suggest. He can really break away and leave his opponents behind. Hopefully he can do the same at the next level.

While Marsh was one of our quickest draftees selected in a long time, I wouldn’t say he was overly quick on the field. He could never really use his pace to break away imo. Maybe after doing his hammy he was hampered a little bit.

Sinclair and Freeman... if only they could have gotten on the park.

Swanny’s first couple of steps were quick enough and he was strong enough to push his opponent away and that would give him enough time.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Stephenson got a little quicker after the 20meters. Looks like he really picks up more speed with his long legs, once he gets going.

My first step is quick.....but after that I'm farken slow :D

Is there any other game in the world where the powers that be feel the need to keep changing and tinkering with the rules.
Just play pre-season games so we can see how our players are looking.
Nest year let's try AFLX handball. Played on a basketball court. No kicking allowed. Points allocated for hanpassing the ball through the hoop.

I sometimes think this is an Australian trait. We just cant leave some things alone, and keep gnawing away at stuff, endlessly debating and consulting and changing and modifying - often for a poorer outcome (I'm involved in the town planning profession:mad:).

Yep.
Leave things alone.

Looked Promising in the AFLX.

Has lot of X-Factor and love how in the 1st Game he got in a Corner and ran around his Man.

Lovely Zopper Goal in the 2nd Game. Can Kick it a Fair Way.

Though his Long Field Kicking is hot and cold as missed his Target by Fair Way in 2nd Game when he was Trying to Kick it Long

Looked a long way from AFL footy physically, brushed off pretty easily. Needs a year in the gym
On pure talent/athleticism it looked like he'd be up to playing AFL footy and would probably do alright.

But like you say physically he was far off the pace (as we knew he would be)

Agree with this, and I'm not sure that he will play more than half of the games this year. But looks like he will be able to have an impact at senior level at times through sheer x factor/athleticism.

From memory in his very first involvement in the play he tried to stick a tackle, missed it, then was quite slow to react for the second effort. He did seem to learn from that though because from there his second efforts seemed to be pretty good.

Kicking style looked a bit awkward at times but mostly effective. The 'zooper goal' (Ok, now I feel dirty after writing that ) was a beauty. Long, flat, straight.

All in all it was nice to get a look at him, he definitely needs more size but barring any catastrophic events, we will definitely see the almighty #35 guernsey at senior level this year for the first time since 2015.

Yeah I wouldn’t expect to see him in the senior line up pre-ANZAC day. If he is I don’t see it as a positive for the club overall because it would indicate injuries or poor form. IMO, there wouldn’t be a single person, that knows the game, who saw how easily he was pushed off it last night that would think he’s a chance early season.

No doubt he'll benefit from further years of weights programs. Took Daisy a number of years and he was a similar build when drafted. But I'm not sure why people then conclude that he's not physically ready for senior footy. Yes, he might get pushed around on occasions but I've seen some big guys get pushed off the footy as well.

He looked to have some agility and ability but he's a fair way off being a senior best 22 player. He'll get games for development purposes and I'll be happy to see glimpses of talent and impact but we shouldn't expect a lot from first players, particularly thinner athletic types.

Agree. I could see him playing RD 1 IF he plays well in the JLT Games.

He would not be the 1st Skinny Player to play RD 1
