I'd genuinely like to see how he'd go at another club playing further up the ground as that line breaking wingman that he played for periods as an u/18 that really propelled him up as a top pick.

We could certainly use that style of player. He might simply not be able to play that role at AFL level, however I think it would be worth the risk.
I reckon he'd thrive in that role on a team with strong contested midfielders. I look at Melbourne and reckon Stephenson nicely compliments their list if he plays wing and actively looks to be the back outlet at stoppages, the key is keeping him away from contested situations as much as possible, so a club that has Viney, Oliver and Petracca regularly around stoppages would help see that happen

Yeap our midfielders bar Adams are as soft as wingers

Last nights game did not improve his draft value he was doing what Butler did a couple of years ago which was submit to the tackle instead of fighting it.

He has been in the system long enough to alter that side of his game so any team that might be interested will not be impressed by his performance against Port.

Well That makes no sense for The Pies to trade him when he is still contracted and his value is low.

I just don't see why Collingwood would him at this point.unless Buckley wants to cut him loose, which seems unlikely.

What i did watch alot of in last nights game was Jaidyn when he was near the ball or the ball was in his area
He looked extremely stand off'ish and reluctant to go at it and unsure of his role which is surprising as he ws playing the same role that he played his best football in his 1st/2nd year as a 3rd fwd.

Another thing that took my attention is that he was 189cm 76kgs when drafted , He does not look like he has added 1 kgs of muscle since his arrival 3 years ago. He will be going into his 4th season and hope he pulls his finger out as time and chances pass by very quickly.

I had mentioned before i would be happy to trade Richmonds 1st pick this year for him but after last nights game i dont believe i would without really doing my home work on him. There looks to be other issue's at play here

He lost 10kg with glandular fever in the offseason and has struggled to put it back on. It’s pretty clear it’s affected his whole year.

Yeap pies would laugh you out of the room for the deal too. Neither Brown or Stephenson has been good this season, but at least for the latter we know he will rebound, and he has 8 - 10 years ahead.

Um, how do you know Stephenson will rebound?

It looks all mental with him ATM, he didn't even celebrate a goal he kicked. Looks like a deer in the headlights whenever he gets the ball.

I totally agree Stevenson showed a hell of a lot in his first two seasons but the kid looks depressed and really unhappy ATM.

Who really knows why or if he will bounce back.

Glandular Fever

Glandular is no easy thing to get over.

Alec Waterman was de-listed by the Eagles after struggling with it for a year. It took him 3 years to get over it, start training again, build up his endurance and strength to the level to play WAFL league. Sneaky chance of being redrafted this year.

I'm betting that our second (tied to Nth Melbourne) would be enough to get a deal done.

It's not only his form that is of concern, his attitude has totally changed (his interaction with Pendlebury on the bench for example) and it's looking likely he'll be dropped (for the 4th time this season) for next week's game.

It's clear as day that it'd be in both his and the clubs interest to part ways and I'm sure the HFC would take a punt on getting him right again.

Realistically, would a late first to early second suffice?

Along with Breust and Gunston I'd say a late first / early second might do.....just sayin

Mate for someone who’s talking him down so much in multiple threads, you sure seem bloody eager for him to get to Hawthorn.....

And the answer is absolutely not.

You realize he had glandular fever losing alot of weight and hasn't recovered looking fatigued right ?

I get that, however that doesn't justify his attitude or the fact that he's looked both disinterested and scared of getting hurt out there.

We used to crack in harder in U10's than this bloke at the moment.

It's more than clear by all of his actions, body language and lack of effort that he shouldn't be out there right now.

Would a change of scenery help the kid or is there something deeper at play here that we're all missing?

We don't know Sigmund? but you seem to be making real progress in your theories here!
BTW....how'd you go at AFL level after being the BEAST of the under 10's?

Your talking nonsense. Have you ever had glandular fever and know how frustrating it is zapping you're energy levels? Have you been a elite athlete trying to play sports recovering from an illness like that at 70/85% fitness ? Give the kid a break and a Holliday to recover and he should be fine without a frustrated face waiting for the season to end to recover.

Hopefully I am and you're right.

Guess we'll find out one way or another next season.

I would blame Collingwoods dumb ass coach being desperate for a flag to save his coaching career playing him not well in the first place. I don't think dimma or clarko would let him play until fully recoverd being better coaches as the kid looks cooked this year.

This could definitely be the case and if so it's actually really bloody wrong.

You're right in relation to Clarko and Dimma - they'd have given him (or any player for that matter) as long as it takes to get themselves right again.

Genuinely hope the kid comes good again, also hope that it's in the brown and gold!

Na ill paper scissors rock ya so he joins the tiger's and he would probably be our leading goal kicker in our fast ball movement game style. Yeah its pretty selfish putting coaching trigger clauses first before wellbeing i would say but if he does leave that's a big loss letting your most dangerous young talent go.

Like the confidence except none of those beat water balloon, LMAO!
