Question to Carlton supporters

What do you value Henderson, Yarran, Tom Bell?

FWIW, my opinion is:

Hendo is the same as Carlisle (WADA threat aside) - mid to late first rounder. No higher than 12-13, probably closer to 15. Both talented KPs who can play at either end but serious questions over consistency and attitude.

Yarran - mid first rounder. Unbelievably talented and all Carlton fans know what he will do in a stronger side that can get him in space. No higher than 10 though, hasn't produced consistently enough to warrant it....and no club with pick 10 would use it on him. Feels like RIchmond's first is about right.

Bell - decent secound rounder given his year this year.

Clubs are willing to pay Jake 700-750,000. You are all trying to offer a second round pick or third or threat of the PSD to get him, yet your club is offering this kind of money.
You then go on to say WADA ban etc, yet YOUR clubs are offering him the money still.
He will not be traded for some 2nd or 3rd round pick, stop being delusional.

The two isues are related - clubs are willing to offer him serious money because they think they can get him cheap (or free) in trade terms if he nominates them. If they thought they had to give up serious assets for him, I suspect the wage offers would be lower.

In (Carlton supporter's) opinion, he owes the club nothing and Essendon should count themselves lucky if they get anything.
I'd say the same thing if it was us. What Essendon did to those players was completely ****ed and the players owe the club zero.

Saints are the logical fit team wise. If they could get another kpd then they are set at both ends for a fair bit with bruce, mccartin, goddard and then carisle. Will only need more mids..

Wonder if carlton would still be interested if they had taken goddard in draft this year. They never had much luck with goddards though.

Essendon need a ruckman and the saints have three seemingly decent ones that are vying for top billing. How about a straight swap for Tom Hickey. He is only 24 and about to come into his prime. Much less injury prone than Kruzer and likely to cost you less.

My personal opinion of these 4 clubs aside. If St Kilda, Richmond & North can offer the same years & money as Carton then Carlton would be on the bottom of Carlisle's list if he has any common sense.

Richmond (Closest to winning a flag)
St Kilda (Bright future)
North (Close but not gonna be close enough to a flag)
Carlton (Further away to a flag than even EFC)

No.

EFC might entertain that deal since we're desperate for a decent ruck. I personally don't rate Bellchambers at all. I'd pick Giles & McKernan over Bellchambers if no deal is made this offseason.

No to straight swap, he can't get a game at a team that won one more game and we're sending a much more promising player. Maybe to 2nd pick plus Hickey. Prefer first pick on its own.

Just because clubs that have a huge amount of cap space free need to pay someone a chunk of coin in order to get to the 95% minimum of the salary cap, doesn't mean that they are also willing to pay up big in terms of a draft pick, or trade, to get the job done.

It's one thing to gamble with money you can afford to spend, it's a whole other thing to gamble with a really high draft pick that are like gold and don't come around often (unless you're GWS, Gold Coast, Melbourne, or Carlton).
