I would take Rance and Chaplin as a combination over Talia / Hartigan or Richards / Grundy or Tarrant / Thompson or McPharlin / Dawson.

Your an Essendon fan, you have copyright on delusional.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Continue this delusion, it's very entertaining. I'd rather have 1 goal from the gun KPF against Talia/Richards/Thompson/McPharlin and 3 goals from the second KPF than 1 goal from the gun on Rance and 5 on Chaplin.

Also like how you put in the tertiary KPD for Freo instead of the gun in Johnson.

They need mid depth. Cotchin (despite his final), Martin, Deledio, Miles and Ellis is a very good top end. Bringing in a gun mid does help increase your depth (see Goddard for Essendon) I agree, but to say that their pathetic defence wasn't a large part of their loss is naive.

They need key defenders.

Birchall and Frawley gun defenders? Hawthorn have the most overrated defence in the league.

McPharlin, Johnson, Dawson and Alex Pearce all shit on Chaplin.

Richards is a gun and Grundy is twice the player Chaplin is.

Scott Thompson and Tarrant>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rance and Chaplin

Talia is a ******* superstar and I don't even rate Hartigan but I acknowledge he's still better than Chaplin.

Thanks for confirming you're delusional.

You lost me on so many examples

Chaplin is shit and old, Astbury hasn't played more than 8 games in a season in the past 5 yeas. So that reduces down to Rance. Would they honestly rather use pick 12 on a bloke like Yarran who can't get a game for the worst side in the AFL?

Tigers desperately need a good KPD. They have **** all.

Most clubs would love someone like Carlisle. The fact you think different is laughable.

With Richmond having the 3rd lowest points against this year, I think a mid is more a priority.

Johnson plays as a key defender about as often as Dustin Fletcher. He plays loose.

Rance is the best key defender in the league and Chaplin is serviceable. No club spends 1.5 million on there 2 key defenders so doubt tigers would chase Carlisle.

Yes. But the other Tiger defenders are shit.

Wait, really? That's hilarious. Their defence is shit.
You do realise Hawthorn had the no.1 defence in the league this season?
I don't believe that points against are a true reflection. I use a different system, goals/inside 50 and marks/inside 50. From memory Hawthorn rank about 5th or 6th in each of those, which says more that their midfield is good at preventing the inside 50, not that their actual back 6 is great.

That's why he played on blokes like Hawkins, Westhoff, Tippett, Carlisle, Waite and Jenkins throughout the year. Keep showing you have nfi, it's rather entertaining

Rance is a gun but Chaplin is completely shithouse, as shown in his record in the past 3 finals.

Sorry birchall. Second in the fairest and best in the best team last year doesnt matter. Two supporters who watch botton 8 teams all year think your shit

Pies will take him if you're offering ;)

He goes okay imho

Just wondering... Where does Essendon rank in your system?

From memory about 14th/15th this season. Last season they were 3rd/4th from memory again.

Yeah, but I was right about Carlisle leaving and you hate that don't you.
Not really. I came to terms with that a couple of months ago.

Richmond may show an interest. It really depends what is around at pick 12 in terms of their needs.

People are so fixated on picks as in Carlisle is work pick x. Unless you apply it to what you are actually getting/losing in the draft it is silly to form a strong opinion either way. The pick would depend on the available players talent and positional fit with the specific team. For Example as Essendon have Hurley and Hooker if we had pick 2 (likely Weitering) it would have less value to us then say Saints or Carlton who are interested in topping up with young KPD talent. In that position I would be aiming to do a Melbourne / GWS Tyson trade.

Relating that point to Carlisle's value look at the players available at pick 7-20 in the draft (see a respected phantom poster / youtube clips) and ask would you prefer Carlisle with all his strengths, weaknesses and risks or one of the potential players. The highlights / phantom drafts wont form a educated opinion however it will provide a criteria for more realistic and fruitful discussions then the norm "2nd rounder + fringe = insert player" v "mid first rounder".

Just my thoughts

Why do you Essendon supporters rave about Hurley, Hooker and Carlisle then? Your ranking system doesn't make them sound any good
Hurley has been beaten once this season (against N Riewoldt). Our stats in this area were still pretty good until Hooker was shifted forward, around 7th/8th, but then got blown out after the Saints game. A lot of it was around the players like Hibberd, Gleeson and Dempsey playing like shit on their opponents.

So, on your ranking system. Your backline as a whole is shithouse? See, I think Hurley's an absolute gun, hooker is awesome, Carlisle goes alright too. Yes hooker went forward, I get that.

I'm just surprised at your ranking system. All good.

Pretty much. Had as much to do with midfielders kicking goals as well.

Aish has a lot of upside, whoever courts him will be doing well. I think a lot depends on where his preferred destination is. If Aish doesn't nominate a preferred destination then Brisbane could end up with reasonable value (at least what he is worth, probably a top 10 pick).

Hot tip. There is an Aish thread and this is not it
