Saints on trade pick 10 to Essendon for Carlisle.

Outcome -

Port lose pick 10 - gain Dixon
Saints lose pick 5 - gain Carlisle and 19
Suns lose Dixon and 19 - gain Pick 5
Essendon lose Carlisle - gain Pick 10

Essendon could then talk to GC about swapping pick 10 for Harley Bennell + change if they so choose.

I'd add Parish to that top group on the back of back-to-back AA's at the champs and a couple of very good years and then you'd also have to wonder who Melbourne will select if they keep pick 4. Hearing that they want to go tall, so they could allow one of our top 4 options to slide through to us at 5 if they reach for a Curnow or even Weideman.

Parish doesn't have any elite attributes, he's just above average at most things which is why I mentioned Clarke. Melbourne have pick 6. If you keep you place in the draft, at this stage it looks like you will be getting a Mathieson/Balic/Tucker type or maybe reach for someone like Collins. I can't say I'd rather any of those players over Carlisle, but that's just my view.

This my opinion you may disagree. I think Carlisle is worth a 1st rounder about 10-15. Wouldn't give up Menzel. Untouchable with Cripps. Bit like what Z.Merrett is to you. Unless we gain a pick from somewhere else in that range I'd say we would be out of the equation for Carlisle as it stands right now.

You'll find that 90% of Saints fans won't be happy if pick 5 is involved in the Carlisle trade. That answers it for you.

Looks fair to me however those 3/4 club deals rarely work. I would think it would be something like 5 & 42 for Carlisle & 23. Saints will try & split pick 5 into 2 good players (Carlisle & someone with pick 23).

we had pick 1 in the psd last year and still wanted to give Sydney something for Membrey... yeap Membrey. so we waited and waited hoping for the AFL sydney ban to get over turned... in the end we just had to wait for him to be a DFA

year before, pick 3 in PSD. GWS & Melb were not into the same players as us, still got deals done

we are not about absolutely ripping clubs off. clubs who think that way are horrible to deal with

Now tell me the correlation between me (& other Saints fans) not being happy with that trade & me thinking pick 5 may be involved cos Richo rates Carlisle & other people like Anderson, Finey, etc have suggested pick 5 for Carlisle (hence reading the 'tea leaves')?

I've said a number of times on the Saints board & other boards & threads that I think pick 5 may be involved in the trade (amongst a number of other hypotheticals) but that doesn't mean I'm happy with it.

Tbh I think pick 5 WILL be involved however I wouldn't be HAPPY if it occurs. Far from happy.

I don't know why you bother referencing team boards it's a complete waste of time. I could dig up trade hypotheticals such as 5 & Billings for Carlisle on your board or Seedsman for Aish on the Pies board or a bunch on my board. All team boards are overly biased.
