Traded Jake Carlisle [traded w/ #23 and #44 for #5, #24 and Craig Bird]

A work mate of mine is best mates with a North Melbourne player. Apparently the reason Carlisle has taken so long to announce his preferred club is because it was actually North Melbourne. But Carlisle & North met a couple weeks ago & both sides weren't happy with how the meeting went.

So now Carlisle is deciding who his next preferred club is & apparently it's out of St Kilda or the Doggies. NOT CARLTON.

Jake agreed to join Carlton a couple of months ago.

He sure seems indecisive.

No the option is if you really want him you pony up with pick 5 or you simply don't. No way I would expect my club to take two second round picks for Carlisle. Next years first rounder plus this years second rounder more likely to work for Essendon but you would be taking a risk if you underperform

I totally understand saints not wanting to give up first round pick.
But totally deluded to think second rounder gets it done.
I love your midfield but key defender fisher, Gilbert and dumpster all in 30s. Godard very good prospect. Reiwoldt one of the games greats Bruce has developed beautifully and McCartin potential. Carlisle at 23 I would have thought fits perfectly.
Rahul in a trade game picked up Tomlinson maybe him or Plowman are cheaper options though I am not ure if they are as good.

Couldn't care less about a player while good isn't irreplacable over the next couple of years.

I assume it would take a first round pick to get it done. Carlisle was pick 24, and has shown tremendous ability. He is a quality player, and a versatile player, although I do note that he does have an attitude problem. Perhaps that is just due to Essendon and the WADA issue, not sure. But at 23, and a proven KP player, it will take a top 10 pick to get this done. Outside of that, sweeteners will have to be added.

Essendon is losing a player that wants out of the club. The club is not trying to palm off the player. So I doubt EFC is going to get involved in a trade were they lose a player that wants out plus a draft pick just to get one early first round pick in return. St Kilda would need to go get that pick 11 for Carlisle if they didn't want to handover pick 5.

From what I've heard apparently Carlisle is going to St Kilda & they are willing to give up pick 5 for him.

True. Both The Doggies & St Kilda have a few youngsters that the Bombers would love to get in return for Carlisle. But I think both teams will offer up their first round picks before they handover one of their young guns.
