Sorry to disappoint.

I wish it never happened :(
I couldn't care. We don't pay Carlisle to be a Good Samaritan. He's a footballer but also a human. I like it how says it as it is. We might get a bit of bad press out of it, and he will cop a mouthful from Richo, but we won't lose sponsors, members or even fans.

Football is a little too precious at times.

If a female hockey player had sledged another female hockey player something along the lines of "your husband has a huge penis, Karen said he used it like a pro" would that be a sledge against the husband or a way to get under the skin of an opposition player?
If Murphys partner was a man, would it be labelled sexist?

Oh thats right in that case the correct labelling would be homophobic.

It was a sledge about the twats partner not her sex, but her status.

But that concept would need some thinking and analysis, something the tawdry old talking heads in the media seriously lack. Much easier to beat up the sensational.

And the MSM wonder it is dying and failing.

Female hockey player #2 may tell female hockey player #1 to go and get pucked

Three questions.

So when Buddy was making jokes to Sam Fisher about having had sex with Fish's girlfriend before they got together, that wasn't okay? Strange, because I seem to recall everybody moving on with that pretty quickly.

It's okay for Murphy to sledge Carlisle about drugs, but it's not okay for Carlisle to retaliate in kind. He should just shut up and take it - because that's what we're teaching people to do now? To not retaliate when bullied? Funny, I thought we wanted people to stand up when that happened.

Honestly, how much of this just comes down to St Kilda is a little minno who should just shut up and take it whenever a big bully like a top-4 club goes at them? Carlisle's problem isn't what he said - lots of players have said that stuff. It's that he wore red, white and black when he did it.

Can't wait to cheer for Jake this Saturday.

Still remember an exchange from when I was but a lad, when my opponent told me he'd "****ed my sister last weekend."

My reply: "Must have have ****ed my brother in a wig, dickhead."

Hilarity ensured, beers were exchanged afterwards, the planet continued to dance through the celestial ballet...

It's a very different world now.

No one will ever be innocent when it comes to sledging. However, you will often find that those who sling mud yet can't handle it will always come out on top, whilst the player with the honourable stance suffers, due to the former crying poor to the media.

Unfortunately, St Kilda have poor history with scandals (thanks to the media, largely, though) thus would be sledged more than others. Imagine if our players did the same thing and cried foul; there'd be a news story every week if Milne was as emotionally soft as Murphy.

My question is why do the saints have a poor history with scandals?
Why are all our scandals blown out of proportion?

Essendon drug cheats.
Carlton adelaide salary cap cheats.
Norths star player ****** his captains wife.
Hawthorn captain drink driver.
Hawthorn players sexual assault in taxi.
Hawks coach punches a supporter.
Collingwood president racist.
Plenty of other drug/sexual/gambling/corruption scandals all over the afl.
Why are we singled out by the media as the "scandal club".

Marc Murphy incites an all in brawl... St kilda scandal.

the truth is we seem to yes,
Drink driving, drugs ( in NZ ), Duthie, penis photo's, comments at airports, we seem to bubble along often enough that the last one isn't so far from recent memory
fact is, the perception out there, we as a club need to be better than any other in regards to media led scandals to dispel that perception.
that's twice now Jake has put the media spotlight on the club, both for negative reasons.

The real sledge was pertaining to her number of relations with other footballers, including those that have played for St Kilda.

In that essence, the sledge is attacking Murphy's choice to be with someone after many of his peers have. If Murphy sees no problem in that action, then fair enough, but others will pot him for it. No different to someone that sees no problem with, say, drug use and then being criticised for doing it.

there is a huge difference, Jake is a fool, he's brought enough attention to himself for the coke thing, and others, of course he is going to cop it, he has to live with it, why should a wife/GF/partner/family be used as a barb. that is the line, keep it on the field, between the players, if Jake didn't bloody snapchat himself doing coke then it couldn't be used against him.

So we didnt attack her we attacked him.
surely in the 21st century, if a woman feels like sleeping around, society should be progressive enough after the last 20 years of war on racism, homophobia and religious issues that the sexual history of a woman shouldn't be used in such a fashion, her history only needs to concern 2 people, herself and her partner.

personally, It steps over the line, I never liked it when I played, not sure how its seen as any more courageous as what Murphy did in retaliation, none the less, St Kilda has come out of it far worse and try as we might to defend it, once gain we are held up as a morally corrupt club, rightly or wrongly

I remember i sledge in particular when i was 19 years old.

I was dating a netballer who played for the opposition club, probably my 10th game in the 1s and their fullback gave it to me.

Does Sarah still do that thing with her #€£=&÷
Does sarah still like &$€=7$
Ect ect. You get the point.

I played a stinker and needless to say me and Sarah didn't work out lol

Can confirm that some pretty foul things were directed at some of our blokes in regards to old scandals.... Not an excuse, but just sayin.

Well if its true I don't have an issue and if its a lie then depends on whats said. At least that is about them. What has Murphy wife done to deserve anything being said?

So foul disgusting things said about Saints players to them is fine?

ok.

You dont pay him to be a good Samaritan but you expect him to be a decent human being and to be a role model for the younger players, of which St.Kilda has close to the most talented in the league. With the growth of womens football and women coming into the game in their thousands, you have some kind of responsibility not to disrespect a female out on the field. I reckon Richardson and the St.Kilda leadership would be filfthy with Carlisle if he has overstepped the mark on what he has said on the field. The premiership this year is up for grabs and St.Kilda are as good a chance as anyone. They need everything to go their way to achieve what they are capable of.

If its true whats the issue? if its a lie it depends on what is said. As I said that is at least about the player. Why should Murphy wife even be involved. Surely our players are smart enough to think of something against Murphy himself. San I ask if this isn't an issue then why all the publicity and why the apology? And don't give me its because they hate us.

Ok.

I think you don't understand. And think most non biased people think its wrong unless 99% of the media hate us. I'm sure there are people thinking they do.

Theres enough evidence to suggest we are a easy target for media. We have been treated appallingly by the media in the past.

My question is why do the saints have a poor history with scandals?

I have to say St.Death....I wonder the same thing.....

While other clubs scandals seem to disappear.........ours linger for what ever reason.
