Interestingly ha said that Wallace didn’t have a game plan and would just try to nullify the opposition. Lid’s didn’t disagree. Jake just destroyed the media myth that Wallace was some kind of tactical genius. Great podcastI watched it yesterday, loved it!
I wouldn't believe everything he said but it was still an interesting insight.
The Wallace stuff was probably 100% true though.
Terry’s TriangleInterestingly ha said that Wallace didn’t have a game plan and would just try to nullify the opposition. Lid’s didn’t disagree. Jake just destroyed the media myth that Wallace was some kind of tactical genius. Great podcast
The solarium spin doctorAll I remember about Hollywood Wallace was ‘Tuesdays with Terry’ and that bloody 24/7 tan.
Original FIGJAM…..
There was a game against the crows where we played keepings off the whole game , it was putrid to watch, Bowden was playing kick to kick with the other defenders, every time a crows player put him under pressure he just handballed it through for a behind, we won that gameInterestingly ha said that Wallace didn’t have a game plan and would just try to nullify the opposition. We had just been thrashed by Geelong I think the week before (100 points?).There was a game against the crows where we played keepings off the whole game , it was putrid to watch, Bowden was playing kick to kick with the other defenders, every time a crows player put him under pressure he just handballed it through for a behind, we won that game
But that was shocking tactics.

2006 Rd 7 - Sydney spanked us by 118..We had just been thrashed by Geelong I think the week before (100 points?).
It was actually genius by Wallet to come up with a plan to beat the Crows.
But listen to the pod cast that was the problem. He could come up with a plan against other teams, but didn't come up with a system for our team to be the best it could be.
Probably some wasted years and talent there, but in the end it meant we got Dimma, some low finishes to bring in talent and the rest is history.
Memory failed me on it being Sydney, but that was the game Joel walked the ball over the line twice, that was against Essenton.2006 Rd 7 - Sydney spanked us by 118..
2006 Rd 8 we beat adel by 3p ' the basketball crap' game - was what we were accused of playing by Sheedy I believe it was.
Bowden walking the ball over the goal line twice in the dying minute won us the game.
In fairness, that was about the last sensible rule change the CFL instigated,Memory failed me on it being Sydney, but that was the game Joel walked the ball over the line twice, that was against Essenton.
Had to look up the year/match, 2008 rnd 16.
One of the other rule adjustments made because of Richmond.
