Giants might have a bit of interest allegedly… unlikely. If anything did eventuate it would be at end of trade period. I can see McCartney sitting down with Bombers and flicking them a fourth rounder in the last minute… very unlikely trade tho imo.

Yeah i cant really see McCartney flicking a 4th last minute like he's in charge of setting the price. Have to see what way Rosa goes but theres a few fringe players at the giants he should be in to

Stringer already said he won’t be playing for Bombers again.
Unfortunately for you guys you have no power in this one.

He's 50/50 to stay. His options are/were limited and his manager hasnt really played the cards well. We'd happily let him leave of course but its not a case of we have to take anything because he will not return to the club like you are suggesting.

Reckon where he ends up it will be for a third straight up or a second with a third going back with him.

So if it is GWS I reckon it ends up being

#49 for Stringer

Or

#34 for Stringer and a future 3rd.

49, 52 and 70 for Jake, get it done.

That’s all it’d take? You’d think even with off-field issues, more clubs would want him. He’d be good value for teams like the Swans, Cats, Giants, etc., who are in contention and need to upgrade while not give up much.

I don't think it will take a lot, I also think Jakes off field stuff is way overblown.

I'm not Essendon so I don't know. And why do we need to add another year to a contracted player?
So he stays? You have let him explore his options by not giving him a 2nd year.

If he could get fit and be a professional - he would get a longer contract from the club that knows him best.

If it was overblown wouldn't ess offer a 2nd year?

He's old and doesn't suit us for more than 1 but is an asset to teams in a window to take a punt.

The onus is on other clubs to offer more than 1 to pull him away. The onus is not on us. We keep him to the year and see if he's worth another year off the back of that. If he stinks it, he's depth in the 2's.

It's incumbent on Stringer to perform regardless of the club to the benefit of his future. Stringer's situation isn't because he's "disgruntled" with the environment, he just wants more years and he'll either want to earn that with us or by impressing others in 2025.

At the end of the day we do not need to do anything. We stay at the status quo unless a team comes with a fair offer. A 2nd + a future 2nd or 3rd is a starting point.

Na mate, didnt you hear? McCartneys gonna flick us a token 4th because Stringer has said he's not returning to the club.

We want something decent in return

We could be very lucky if GWS are keen

Its likely they dont use 49, 52 and 70 when Perryman, Peatling, Cumming, XOH, Derksen, Haynes, C.Stone leave plus the other delistings Preuss, Kennedy ect

Id be extremely annoyed if we straight swapped him for just pick 49, would be ludicrous by us, unless the off field stuff is seriously bad
