We all know what happens when some one nominates a club. We will be lucky to get a second round pick and a packet of spuds. (About spuds can we have crisp back?).

I think hes an untouchable now, something like Collingwoods top 5 players or such.

I think a late first is fair pick15-18. Maybe we can get him for a second (mid 20's) with a young player (Oxley or Seedsman).

If you want crisp back you will have to throw in your first pick ;)

What are you talking about. We developed Crisp. We also developed Yeo, Polec, Docherty and Aish. The teams that traded for this players have reaped the rewards. The club invest the time and effort into this kids. We have trouble retaining them.
Disagree. There seems to be a definite trend that any younger player who leaves Brisbane improves dramatically. Only recent on I can think of who has stagnated is Karnezis, the rest have all improved big time.

Justin Sherman wants a chat. Mitch Clark arguably, although he has had injuriy issues. Cameron Wood rings a bell. Dalziel didnt flourish at West Coast.

Crisp has kicked on from his great late season form at the lions
Yeo was best 22 and playing great at the lions
Polec was injured for 3 seasons and struggled to get match fitness (like scharenberg now)
Longer was a young Ruck (always take time)
Docherty prob playing better now
Karnezis has had 1 good AFL season

Identifying talent hasnt really been an issue, all the players that have kicked on showed they were going to be good players while at Brisbane., remembering they were all in theiR 2nd/3rd years. Don't think many Lions supporters would be surprised how Yeo, Docherty, Polec, Longer and Crisp have played after leaving the club.

As for development facilities, were definitely a fair way back on what other clubs can offer, hopfully we can work something out in the near future to help.

Michael changes his mind like the wind lol.
He told Rowie that he wouldnt go to Vic, Port and was more likely to stay at the Lions.
And Rowie and the Aishes are very close friends.
Go figure.
Have played a bit of footy with Jesse and he maintains its Collingwood also. Michael hopes he doesnt go to Victoria but James wants to have a crack at football in Melbourne

So you're saying it's a shocking turn of events when players improve in their third and fourth years? I don't think that's a surprise to anyone remotely aware of AFL.

I don't necessarily think it's the clubs fault they are losing players over the last few years. They just don't want to be up in Brisbane. These are young men way to buggery, away from the only life they've known. Living away from family and friends isn't for everybody, for some its no worries. It's unfortunate but the way it is.
On the other hand another reasoning could be that they get into the system and what they imagined the lifestyle of a footballer would be like is completely different up there, they might want to be noticed and get all the fruits that go with living in the footy bubble of Melbourne Adelaide or Perth.
Which would make them tools.

That just highlights Brisbane's inability to develop players.
Yeo, Polec, Longer and co were mostly rubbish at the Lions.
Crisp was just solid. All players have gone up a level since leaving Brisbane.
Aish isn't silly.

Brisbane have big issues with their culture and development.
That is why they are struggling to retain players, and develop them.
Perhaps you guys could chase Hird, he did wonders for us.

No idea. Yeo was good. Doc was good. Polec was good when not injured. Longer was a second year ruck. Now that you've proven that you didn't actually watch the Lions in 2013 before forming an opinion on how our players went, any other thoughts?
