Personally, I think that unless it's the type of player that will get us over the line (like a Cloke, Franklin, Tippett etc.) we should just keep on the same track we have been, recruiting good players for their last contract from a poor club on average coin.
People forget we have our own free agents this year.

Melbourne will no doubt be able and willing to offer him a lot more than us, our only shot is if he decides to forgo some coin to escape that rabble.
With the appointment of Roos that's looking a lot less likely than it was 12 month ago though.

Agree esti, Roos' appointment hurts our chances of snaring Frawley. Still, the bloke isn't a miracle worker and another horror season may be enough to sway him.

Frawely said if they dont win more games then they did last year he will leave because he is sick of losing, so im sure if we have a yarn to him and offer some good $$$$ he will come over perth ways, Imagine this backline once Lukey retires.

Unless he gets sick of being in a losing side all the time.
I doubt they will improve much if at all. There won't be many weaker teams than Melbourne this year.

Melbourne will win 4 or 5 games max this year. I think that will push him over the Edge, since being at the club he has never played in a final's series, i think he'll leave.
If Mcpharlin retires and Tanner Smith is not ready, then he would be perfect

Really not sure about Dawson at CHB.
On another note, apart from Dawes and Clark, Melbourne must have a truckload of money to throw at players like Frawley and Hogan.
Yeah, we have a bit of coin to spend and a couple of KPP about to retire, so every KPF and KPD that comes out of contract is linked to us.
Good, then we should bid and make them pay.

hes has only played in 22 winning games since joining melbourne, and has never played a finals series.
You'd have to think he's certainly fielding offers.. But he'd be more likely to stay home and still take his pick of whatever powerhouse club's contract he feels like.
