Elvis wont be easy to replace, but we do have several options in our list which bodes well for the future. I have followed Freo
since inception, and the depth available now is the best I have seen.
Smith, Pearce, Silvagni, Vandeleur, gives us something to work with, and with Lyons tutelage, gameplan should be enough to limit the
damage.
Tabs, Apeness positions are still to be determined, there is enough height, size, to think at least two players will make the grade.
A ruckman is where I believe a trade will be done, isn't Rance from WA?

Yes Rance is a WA boy. he is part of the 2015 free agency

Alex Rance is a jet. the amount of times hes kept buddy to 2 goals or less or roughead
Crap might be a tad harsh but I think you would be pretty hard to pressed to find many that would describe him as a 'jet'. Tries hard but often quite a dumb footballer imo with his decision making.

Lyon has turned around careers of Dawson, Duffield, Ibbotson, Walters, C Pearce, and the list goes on. We would all love an A grade player,
for free agency, the reality is quite different.
I look at Hawthorn who added Hale, Gibson, and don't see top tier, improves an already quality list. We are in the same boat, we have some
exceptional talent, just need to top up on experienced hard bodies.

The question is really if you think Rance is better than Silvagni or Tanner Smith. If not, what's the point?
Rance is playing AFL every week he is available, doesn't hurt to have depth, Tanner Smith can play forward or back. Silvagni hasn't played
consistent footy at the top level yet.
A player like Alex gives our kids more time to develop, and competition for spots keeps the team hungry.

Silvagni would play every game if we didn't have McPharlin and Dawson (And has in fact played every game that McPharlin has been injured AFAIK). The fact he isn't getting a regular AFL game is more of a reflection of the strength of our list than anything else. Alex Rance wouldn't be getting a game ahead of McPharlin or Dawson either.

Silvagni has done everything the club has asked of him and more .
He has played up forward and down back in KPP rolls with great effort and put his body on the line for RTB ,if he had not got injured he was pushing for a place in the Grand final team IMHO .

Rance is no superstar, but he'd be an upgrade on SNOS without a doubt.

Don't think anyone is questioning silvagni's commitment, courage, and appetite for the contest - problem is more skill (kicking!) and tendency to give away free kicks due to brain-farts. The disadvantage of wearing his aggro on his sleeve is that it's also obvious to opponents when he feels owned - Tex during the Crows semi final comes to mind...

As I posted on another thread...

Frawley would be a wanted man obviously. But lets be realistic here. Yes he is a Victorian, so what can can we do to lure him to Freo? Freo can only persuade Frawley on 2 fronts, 1 is on giving him good money and the other is giving him a chance for a flag. Im sure Frawley is keen on both.

Heres my gut feeling. I reckon this will drag on for the whole season just like the Cloke saga of 2012 and Buddy last season. My guess is Frawley will leave the demons and Head to another Vic club like the hawks.

Were more likely to bring Cale Hooker or Rance back to WA in 2015 as free agents than getting Frawley here.

As for Mason Shaw, Its a pity he was picked up a few picks early in the 2012 draft. Happy to get Tanner Smith though.

Silvagni is too small to be a key defender and has nothing to make up for it. We'd be in serious trouble if Silvagni was starting every week. Those thinking Rance isn't a massive upgrade are just delusional. There's a strong chance Dawson wouldn't get a game if he was here.

What I have liked about the 2 FAs that we have nabbed so far is that they have both come across on pretty modest contracts. They have improved our list (ok technically we are still waiting for Sylvia to show that, but he will be in our best 22), and they haven't broken the bank.

That indicates to me that they want to be here, under a hard-arse coach, and that the chances of them reaching their full potential is high here. They have both had a reputation for being unfulfilled talent.

Frawley will get a very good contract at any club in the AFL, although I don't see many being able to compete with the Demons in terms of dollars. Frawley should certainly be asked the question by us, but I don't want to get into a bidding war to entice him here.

After MacPharlin retires, Silvagni and Dawson is an unpalatable pair of KPDs in my opinion.
