Really feel for the EFC supporters. The club has been believing their own publicity for over a decade now and it's finally brought them to this - a shattered foul smelling club with the second worse playing list in the AFL. Another decade in the wilderness beckons with some shmuck head coach yet to be identified. Hope they pay him a big bag of gold for doing the job.

At last their prick of a list manager Dodoro will finally get a reality check on what their list and players are REALLY worth, not the inflated value he puts on them in trade week/fortnight/month or whatever it is.

lol... Yes that is how a club IS MEANT to be run. Hird engaged Dank directly at a meeting in Hirds home and then ran a supplement program instructing Dank to keep the Doc and the dietitian out of it.

In Essendons case Hird employed Dank at an informal meeting at Hird home. He did not go through the normal channels of using the HR department to do the normal check or getting clearance from the CEO. Hird then gave Dank permission and instructed him to start a supplement program that was outside the Clib Dr and normal medical protocols. Hird then did not ensure that any protocols such as record keeping was done. Hird communicated directly with Dank about what substances were to be given and how to keep the Cub Doctor, club dietitian etc out of the loop. This is not my opinion but has been admitted to by Hird and the club and there is significant proof of this. Hird was responsible but has never taken any responsibility.

Thank you Spook, those are the REAL and AGREED FACTS of what really went on at Essendon. It's just that Hird supporters and Hird himself want everyone to believe a different version of events, the version that has Hird being a bit player in this sad saga, and also an unfairly treated victim.

The only time Hird ever took the responsibility for what happened was at the initial presser, since then he has used every avenue possible to distance himself from any blame and hides behind his "players come first" bullshit.

A lot of people have done a lot of things wrong in this saga but Hird is at the centre of blame IMO. The FACTS show that.

Litigation by players injected with unknown substances could keep going for years yet.

Yeah I thought that likely. In fact, I suspected the timing of Hird's action was possibly in anticipation of today's events, and essentially foreshadowed the parameters of the payout negotiations
