Some have been too quick to harshly judge James' performance this year. This is probably largely due to a unrealistic expectation created by his incredible 2022.

We are noticing every kick that doesn't hit its target or every time he sagging off his opponent doesnt work. I feel we are doing so through the lense of someone whom we now expect to never make a mistake. This is just unrealistic.

He is producing another outstanding season in isolation. Remember this is also in the context of playing in a backline constantly under seige and playing largely as a KPD which we know is not the ideal position for him.

Buddy's 13 game was brilliant, but we won that game by over 100 points and he was being fed like crazy. We win it even if Bud isn't out there.

Sic' game today, we don't win if he's not out there. He had this game in an absolute scrap that went down to the wire, he won 50% of his disposals back from the opposition.

Maybe the 13 goal game is more impressive because the game really revolves around who kicks the goals, but I think in the context of overall impact I like what Sic dished out a bit more.
