I don't know why academics bother with this kind of thing. Irrespective of the proof or otherwise of their findings they must realise that post modern social taboo demands that "nice people" are offended or more likely pretend to be offended leading to a lot of heat and no light in a discussion.

Personally I am utterly indifferent to colour but I'm prepared to accept that given that men of all races prize petite feminine looks in women and that black women tend to have larger facial features it is likely that black women are on average rated below Asians who are a sex fantsy for many whites and whites themselves. Whilst this is almost certainly true i am not persuaded that there is much to be gained by publishing it.

Theyre really sensitive to race/ ethnicity down Louisiana way. More so than the rest of the States. And thats saying something.

Racism is to portray stereotypes or traits (usually but not always negative) on a particular person or goup of people based on race.

If its racism, its the mildest possible form.

As a long-time backpacker I've come across scores of different cultures, nationalities, and races. They can all produce achingly beautiful girls. They can all produce swamp thing as well.

As others have said, it's all subjective. We all behold beauty in our own way.

Well basically, it’s safe to say, beauty is based on White Caucasian features. The closer you are to this standard the more “attractive” you are and vice versa. Hence, why numerous dark ethnic groups around the world lighten themselves, why Asians do double eyelid surgery and try to straighten their noses and so on. Black women are the most furthest away from this standard hence why they are generally perceived as the least attractive.

For example, If Asians were the ones that colonized the world and dominated it, and then Asians features would be the standard for beauty.



This is truly one of the long lasting effects of colonization and will last for decades to come

have never banged an indian, although i do find some attractive (not many)

have never banged a full on black chick and dont intend to, i dont find any attractive... its the big hips/thighs and large frames... its just not attractive... ive never even seen a 'full blooded' black chick that id find attractive... i dont even find the 'milk chocolate' 70/30 'black' pop stars like beyonce or rhianna attractive... especially not compared to their white counterparts...

ive read some reasearch into mate selection being based on genetic diversification... i.e. you subconsciously select a mate who doesnt look like you because your body is programmed to try to diversify your genes...

this is the sited as the reason why miss universe is often won by 'mixed bag' women (i.e. from a genetically diverse background) from places such as Venezuela or Puerto Rico, countries with (for historical reasons) a mix of cultures/gene pools...

we are programmed to find genetically diverse women more attractive...

In my experience they've all tasted pretty nice across the ethnic spectrum. Personal hygeine standards aside of course

I find Asian girls the most attractive, followed by Western European, then Meditteranean, then native Americans, then African, and finally Indian would be last. The last two types don't really do it for me, although there are standouts in every group.

I'd go there...one of the few exeptions with that race.

The only black women I find attractive are ones with narrow noses like the one in that pic, it resembles a white woman's. Could be why many black performers get nose jobs (like Kelly Rowland and Rhianna) The exception being Beyonce.

There are so many variables here.

Who is to say the images of the black women that he presented were not that of a lesser quality compared to the majority of back women all over the world?

Seriously though. Humans are all different, especially when it comes to their face. No matter who you choose as your subjects, their facial structures will vary, and people will generally (in isolation) be very picky or completely fall in love, aesthetically speaking. This is irrelevant of skin colour.

Just because you may not find a particular female attractive, even if it is the skin colour variety, it doesn't mean the woman is actually unattractive due to any specific reason - it is just you.

Finding an "average" for facial attraction here is even more ridiculous when you consider the men viewing the images, due to their upbringing, their values, their interest, ect.

Personally, from a body shape point of view, I think black women have more curves than other races (Latinas are an exception), and are more likely to have the sort of body shape I'm attracted to. Yet I'm not black.

As for their facial structure, this varies among all people (like I've touched on before) no matter the race, and you can find uglies/beauties from either one of them.

Let us try to go beyond the obvious, visual characteristics of our preferred partners. Does the feel of a person have any influence on your opinion of them? By this I mean how their skin feels. Surely, if you're going to spend some time with a person, the way they feel is of some import?

Then again, you might be overwhelmed by the more superficial aspects of a person. After all, sex is a visual thing.

If you wished you could also throw in how a person sounds or smells. The smell bit is obvious, but, fair dinkim, I just can't imagine myself listening to somebody who has a voice like a bandsaw first thing in the morning, even if they were the most visually attractive person ever seen. Did I mention the importance of the potential partner being evolved to the point of having at least one opposable thumb. I like that in a person, but maybe that's just me.

When you think about it, how someone looks is only one of many issues to be addressed when considering the nature of attraction. Don't tell the psychologist that though, we'll never hear the end of him.
