Power have to give up a player. They simply don't have the currency without it, unless North really want him gone. (I reckon they do)
Yes they do and loving it

kochie wonā€™t let this trade slip

egg on face after his tā€”-Ossing speech how good port were to get him

lol

if its about winning a flag next year, they'd be after an already developed player instead of JHF. JHF if for the future.
Yep they clearly showed their cards there with 1st their pursuit of Dunkley and when that fell over they moved on to Jack Graham....JHF really just an afterthought prior to that.

Iā€™m not convinced Port want to get rid of a decent player like Butters.
They want a crack at the flag next year which is what chasing JHF was about.

Butters will be more value to Port in 2023 than JHF would be, so I don't see how trading him out and bringing in JHF is about Port chasing a flag next year.

Even if they don't trade out Butters there's no way that JHF is going to be the difference between them and a flag in 2023.

Imagine if the trade doesn't happen and he stays?

Judging by the North board, some of the comments by their supporters on there are vicious, even by BF standards.

They'll absolutely smash him.

Makes what we said about Lever and Tippett seem damn near charitable.

That's the ideal scenario for us...with a full salary cap and set of picks to offer him as an OOC player.

But it's not happening, they'll get a deal done.

I love how the Port supporters expect opposition clubs to just hand them what they want without paying overs for it.

According to their board, trades are meant to be about Port coming away far stronger than they started. I'm pretty sure every team would love for it to work that way, but it doesn't.

At this point I really hope both North and WCE hold firm and Port are forced to give up someone decent to get the deal done.

Duursma I reckon given his love/hate relationship with the coach.
