I know as Ive said before I dont even want horneRepeat after me...
JHF is not coming to the Crows.
It's a pointless hypothetical.
Players pick where they want to go... fortunately Rankine picked us.
Out of interest what do you think C Oliver would be worth? Would two top 5 picks be enough?I know as Ive said before I dont even want horne
i dont believe his disposal is that flash and losing three first round equivalents will cripple us
I have no problems when a team has leverage to use it, but with JHF they have none.
Port wont get Rioli and JHF. They have to pick one or the other. If they were smart, they'd go for Rioli now and JHF next year when out of contract.
North should just back themselves in with their new coach and system to keep him. However, North dug themselves a massive hole. They didn't even speak to the kid, never groomed him for being at North which they should have been doing for Months (speaking once or twice in the week before the draft doesn't count.) They just arrogantly selected JHF at pick one to the least supported club Australia wide who also happen to be the club that offers the least to the competition and is performing the worst. You could see in his face when drafted he didn't want to go, Blight didn't want to be there to give him the jumper. It was the worst PR management exhibition you could see. Terrible on every level. But they turned down a sell the farm offer for him by the Crows, so now they have to back themselves in. If they trade him now, they basically tell the world they have no idea.
I reckon the best time for north to cut him loose is next year.I don't think Port can afford to leave him at North for 12 months for two reasons
1) The Clarkson effect, especially if he ends up coaching North next year
2) I would expect the Crows to go hard at JHF if he's at North next year. We'll likely have better assets to trade and will have an earlier spot in the PSD.
The best time for Port to get him is now.
3) After convincing JHF to break a contract and then not getting the deal done, you’re going to have one mighty pissed off player, agent and manager. All Port goodwill will be shot.I don't think Port can afford to leave him at North for 12 months for two reasons

If Horne says only Port then there's not much we can do about itI reckon the best time for north to cut him loose is next year.
Better to have two teams bidding I reckon.
Seems a bit of a dickhead anyway. Looks up to his step dad who assaulted his own wife and got jail time.If Horne says only Port then there's not much we can do about it
Duursma I reckon given his love/hate relationship with the coach.
We can still put in offers, im sure we can drive up the price. If Horne says only Port then there's not much we can do about it

4) Port supporters will lose their s**t and place more pressure on the club.
Port have to get this deal done.
They’d be insane not tooNumber 4 the most important. Here is an expected superstar at the start of his career and they have him in their hand. No way you don’t pay up - North can push them for plenty

So how does Houston’s name get mentioned? Post on WC board said Port spoke to him last night and he said no. They wouldn’t be trying to play sneaky buggers, throwing up a players name on a 5 year deal they wouldn’t mind moving on and pretending it was West Coasts idea?
Done. We will give our 2023 1st and 2024 1st..both likely top 5 picksOffer something better so we dont have to deal with these port flogs and their fans anymore.
Fancy secretly poaching a contracted #1 pick all year then only being prepared to give up a packet of chips. Kochie and co need a reality check, would rather he end up at the Crows.

Or Port Power lie through their teeth and make out the trade didn’t happen because NMFC refused to do a trade.3) After convincing JHF to break a contract and then not getting the deal done, you’re going to have one mighty pissed off player, agent and manager. All Port goodwill will be shot.
