If the 3 way deal goes ahead, then we should be saying to NM "you knocked back pick 8 plus extras, specifically a F1 and another pick/player, so now you're getting 2 instead of 8, so the extras will reduce".

Sounds like Port and North are comfortable with playing the waiting game anyway.

West Coast has enquired about Houston. Who is signed to Port until 2027, which was a massive show of support by Port when Houston signed earlier this year.

Not so sure, especially if Houston and Bonner can help us keep a first. I can’t see Houston playing midfield, and we have lots of coverage for him. I’m a Houston fan but who else can we offer. We aren’t giving up Sinn or George.

So they bring in 5 first rounders in the same year they win the premiership.

There are crows posters with genuine mental illnesses in there too. Good luck to them and I imagine if it gets done that I will go back and have a little chat then.

Brisbane already have a slew of picks in the 30s and 40s, and they are limited with how many picks they can use to match, so not sure they go for this

That’s not entirely correct, I understand the rules Brisbane are limited in how many picks they can take into the draft - they can only take the number of list spots.
So if Brisbane list is 34 senior listed players, they can only take 4 “live” pick into the draft - once the draft commences they can trade these picks for points.
Ie Brisbane have pick 30 & Port has 48, 50, 52 & 63 (not sure on points calc) a deal could be agreed
They do the same for the other 3 live picks and match Father Sons with what ever points they can accumulate, they could also trade future picks (if available) for 2022 picks/points..

Yep, West Coast have no hand here. Their only real leverage is just the gentleman's agreement that exists in the AFL trade period that clubs won't completely screw each other over like that unless they absolutely have to.
