As Rioli really is a packet of chips (3rd rounder), makes sense to try and get that done (also Esava) sooner than later.

The hold up. It’s just the public perception for WC that will slow things down - they want Rioli tied into the JHF deal, so they can feel like he is worth more than he is. I understand not wanting to cough up a decent young player and get it done with only picks but we're going to have to be the side that overpays here. It's just not worth the risk letting him get through next year with the option of either staying at North or Adelaide opening the door. Rozee, Butters, George and Marshall should be the only players off the table. Get JHF in the door and we have the core to build around long term and still contend now.

The key to getting the JHF deal over the line is to get our pick 8 under 5. General impression is that top 5 are elite/ very good and that it drops slghtly after that. A sub 5 , next years first probably gets it done.

I just don't understand why we seem to be rolling over including West Coast in this three way when it is so obvious all they are trying to do is shaking Georgiades loose. If Norf aren't happy to take 2 x first round picks and a second, they are not going to take 2 and a second.

And to be honest I'm not sure losing 8, next years first, next years second and a good player is a worthwhile deal for us and we might as well wait till next year.

Come the last day North accept 8 and our future first.
