Reading this thread and the one on the Norf board, the prognosis ranges from “he’ll now be even better” to “he’ll never play again”.

Also: “ice baths would have exacerbated the condition” to “ice baths would have helped the condition”

People just believe what they want to believe.

Proof will be in the pudding.

Because, my dear Mr King.............

1. he was still a Norf player until a few weeks ago, so we couldn't touch him to investigate, only surmise from a distance
2. then we did appropriate tests to confirm our original diagnosis
3. then JHF would have to have waited to see a specialist
4. then would have to wait until a spot in a private hospital opens up for the surgery to be done.

Not actually rocket science is it?????

North proudly proclaim to be debt free, but they've only attained that status by having one of the lowest football department spends in the AFL. It's kind of like claiming that the local meat raffle is a more successful business than News Ltd because it doesn't run at a loss.
If they'd tried to get out of debt through ticket sales, they would have folded by now.

Hope it all works out well for him.

Love that this club is professional in its approach behind the scenes to looking after and out for the health, welfare and development of its players.

You should tweet that to him

“Following consultation with numerous specialists, and consideration of the advised options as to how to treat the issue, we decided it was best for Jason’s health, and ongoing football performance, that he have the surgery now to release the pressure on the arteries and restore normal blood flow to his lower legs,” O’Leary said.

“He is now recovering well and will build into pre-season training, with a view to being ready to play in the 2023 season opener.”

Like how dumb is king? Seriously what a moron.

A turnaround from getting a player assessed and see specialists , book in surgery in a couple of weeks is lightening fast. Anyone who’s had to do anything similar themselves would attest that the turnaround for such things would take so much longer.

King is a dangerous mix of dumb and vindictive. North fans should be embarrassed. I’m embarrassed for the human race. He’s exhibit A for just letting the planet do the inevitable reset, we can’t end up any worse.

"...we were made aware he had been managing ongoing, at times debilitating, pain in both calves and feet throughout the 2022 season,” Power head of medical services Tim O’Leary said.

“Our subsequent investigation revealed he had significant compression of the arteries in the back of his knees, causing blockage to the blood flow to his lower legs.”

So JHF and his manager told Ports he had calf and foot soreness during the season. I.e. they (and therefore North) had NFI about the cause.

Then Ports, because we're at least in the conversation with South Adelaide WRT to professionalism, took him to a specialist, determined the cause, treatment and prognosis and decided it was worth the risk.

Conclusion: ****ing LOL north.

North are pathetic. What a way to look after their prized recruit. No wonder he wanted out of that hole.

Just something to consider, but usually North medicos opt for surgery as a last choice once other avenues are exhausted.

For all anybody knows (including that one guy on Twitter who said north didn't know what was wrong), it's just a different recommendation from a different specialist.

We might be getting into glass houses territory a bit, we've had some questionable management of injuries & surgeries over the journey.

There's an element of "lets see if he can play play through it" at all clubs tbh unless it's an immediately drastic problem.
Let's see if he can play through it is not the same as, he's sore but we have NFI why.
