South Am Javier Milei. Here we go again.

You mean like Karina Milei's Miami property portfolio?

Javier's sister, the tarot reader, who he had to change nepotism laws to appoint to Cabinet as his Chief of Staff?

Yeah, he's a neo-liberal unicorn miracle. Or he's the same old nepotistic child of rich people who thinks they've worked hard and that anyone else can do it too.

The president previous to Milei owns literal beach hotels in Spain amid approximately 20 million euros of Spanish real estate bought with stolen money

Christina Kirchner who some idiot a few posts above is defending with his life bought one of the most expensive penthouses in Manhatten worth around 30 million USD while her salary as president was $120k USD

What it comes down to is leftist quasi commies like Chief and co defend these scumbags with their life because they will never experience the negativity of living under it, Exactly like LBGTQ supporting Hamas on the condition they won't be executed.

OK I have recovered.

Pointing out that Milei is a liar with no concern for the average citizen is not support for other corruption that might or might not have taken place.

Have you got any proof of this, or did you just make it up?

How dare these scumbags propose subsidies for power and public transport instead of mineral extraction and mega-agriculture.

Google "Alberto Fernandez madrid" there's about a billion articles on his new billionaire lifestyle in Spain but i cant be bothered sorting through them all you and cheif just use "source?" as a way to discredit reality when you aren't interested in the truth at all

I already did. The worst I could find is that he went to a swanky NYE party in a fancy Spanish hotel.

WHy are you claiming "reality" when you can't even find it on google searching his name and any term related to what you said he's doing?

You said he owned beach hotels and 20m Euros of real estate, yet google says nothing like that.

If you're being disingenuous about this, what else are you misleading?

Article about the hotel he owns in Valencia

A billion articles and videos come up about his new life in the most expensive neighbourhood of Madrid where his neighbours are Real Madrid soccer players earning 10s of millions of euros a year

It took me 4 secodns to find so you obviously didn't search at all, if you are being disingenuous about this, what else are you misleading?

Set your google to auto translate to spanish and search in spanish. English MSM has an agenda to make Milei look bad and downplay the crimes of socialists

He's going to work as a lecturer at a University and "might" own a hotel? Hardly living the jet-setting lifestyle

Commuters in Buenos Aires, Argentina were hit with a 360% increase in subway fare thanks to the austerity policies of the hard-right President Javier Milei. The price for a single ride on the subway in the nation's capital rose from 125 pesos (14 cents) to 574 pesos (64 cents) overnight.

That's the price you pay for 2 decades of socialism. Eventually reality catches up. Electricity and subway have been subsidised for 20 years to stop the plebs rioting while the political class rapes the economy to buy overseas real estate. Think of Argentina today like Russia 1990 after the fall of communist. Except instead of funnelling the money to a few oligarchs Milei is trying to enrich the entire country. He is so selfless

It's enlightening and illustrative of the inclusiveness of BF that even South American right-wing neo-liberal populist politicians can freely post here. 👍

Poverty has gone from 41% in December to 49% in April.

Changing the economy at the expense of the people.

Great show last night, I was in the audience, sold out in 10 minutes. I'm eating a hamburger right now, I asked the guy cooking it what he thinks of Milei "Finally we are kicking out the thieving scum" Milei has overwhelming support from the poor and middle class, more now than when he was elected

A populist right winger promising to kick out an elite class...

What could possibly go wrong?

By the way the video I posted is from an ultra left wing socialist station who hate everything Milei does, if Chief were from Argentina he would be their CEO, but the youtube comments are all 100 % supporting Milei and attacking the station. People have woken up once and for all

I made no comment about the messenger, just the idea that a populist right winger is the panacea.

For the peeps playing at home:

... with the last four presidents - going back to 2003, 20+ years - being Nestor Kirchner, Christina Ferdinand de Kirchner, Mauricio Macri and Alberto Fernandez.

Of that list, I struggle to see how Macri could be considered left wing. He ran on fixing the economy; he allowed speculation on the peso, removing restrictions placed by previous governments; he cut tariffs to improve investment after previous governments adopted isolationist measures to try and dig themselves out of debt and inflation spirals; he ran with austerity until he lost office to Fernandez in 2019. Nothing he did turned his economy around; if anything, all he did was tread water hoping for conditions to improve.

It's honestly pretty sad, reading each leader's economic vicissitudes. Each tried to fix a defaulting economy using the implements their ideology possessed to do it; each ran into similar issues: a general lack of trust from citizenry in the Peso (people kept hoarding American cash, keeping money out of the economy), massive debt and inflation spirals on one hand and a starving unemployed population on the other, constant currency speculation from overseas wreaking havoc on the Peso's value causing regulation only for that regulation to devalue the peso anyway. It's why if at all possible your government should avoid becoming extremely basic; you need more than just soyabeans as a global commodity to ensure you're not overly reliant on a single export.

Macri was basically "Diet Milei." He had similar, less extreme, ideas but was too weak and gutless to actually implement them. The difference is Macri was born rich, his father owned newspapers and their family has historically controlled the biggest soccer club in Argentina Boca Juniors. Which explains his weakness.

Milei is a self made fanatic. Like Muslims who gladly blow themselves up to reach paradise he is the only true believer who can take us to the promised land.

What is certain is that either Milei will succeed or Argentina will be cast into another 100 years of misery and poverty, these are the only 2 possible outcomes

You said this:
He's only been president 4 months. If you are expecting him to over turn 24 years of communist rule in 4 months I don't know what to tell you chief
This is not true, BP, if Macri was 'Milei lite'.

You're welcome to argue your case, but let's keep things to the factual, please.

I just thought by now he might have done something good lol
