A fair and reasonable punishment is for all of his goals to be nullified in today's game. And to ensure he doesn't do it again, each goal he kicked should be handed over to the opposition. So by my calculations - his seven goals would equal 42 points with the Cat's final score being 85. Then that 42 points should be added to Hawthorn's total of 45 resulting in the Hawks score being 87 points.

This allows Jeremy to play next week while learning a valuable lesson about paying attention to umpires.

BTW I'm happy for the same logic to be applied to Lloyd Meek's game for his ruck transgression.

100%

Nobody has ever cuddled and umpire by accident.

Like I said, 8 weeks.

Your words say one thing but your heart is not true in typing those words. But it is fine, I can interpret your post correctly for the uninitiated.

Responding to the intent of your words and not their literal meaning I would just say this RV:

Ok so deliberately touching an umpire is ok now so long as you have flattened the poor campaigner first. :)

****, this thread got bizarrely personal. Do you need my Kindergarten teacher’s phone number for background?

That aside, It’s still 8 weeks.

There are no trangressions against Geelong campaigners. They are like parking officers, you see one getting beaten up in Lock Stock and everyone loves it. So you couldn't rightly punish Lloyd for that even if he did kick goals.

Boundary umpire got caught up in the moment. He left his post and wanted to join in on the celebration. Jezza didn't see him coming in for the high-five and cuddle. It's infectious when Geelong are piling on goals and Cameron is putting on an Ablett-esque master class. Everyone feels compelled to touch the great man, hoping some of his greatness may rub off on them.

Really no.

Boundary umpire saw a goal being scored and started positioning himself to run it back to the center, as is part of their job (or did you think it got back there by magic?)
