Sky blue? WTF. After reading your other comments I'm starting to realise you're a stubbie short of a six-pack.

Let's see... SKY BLUE - NSW Origin team (all of NSW)
SKY BLUE - Cronulla - the other side of Sydney
SKY BLUE - Sydney FC - definitely not GWS

Thanks for the laugh though... would have resonated with the region... Change the colour scheme.... too funny.:D
Yeah if anything blue and gold would better resonate with the region.

Mate Menzel looks good,

But if Carlton were offered Cameron for Menzel and their first rounder, they would be all over it.

Firstly, no. Secondly, why would GWS even want a small forward? They need developed quality mids and KPDs or blokes that are near enough to it, which aren't exactly in surplus down at Princes Park. Unless Cameron nominates Carlton as his desired club, I put us squarely out of the JC race.

Yep. No offence to the other clubs but in terms of personnel of value to GWS (in vic) you'd have to say the ones in the race are the Hawks, Bombers, Tigers, Geelong, Dogs and Collingwood. Hawks a bit iffy with their significantly aged list, and Tigers only due to Astbury/Rance.

GWS couldn't possibly keep all three of Patton, Cameron and Boyd. One was always going to walk due due to lack of opportunity. Maybe they should force the issue and make the most out of things whilst they have maximum leverage, i.e. a contracted player.

Edit to add: management holding out and demanding to understand list management strategy is bullshit. The plan is blatantly clear - load up on the competition's best young talent thanks to a compromised draft and let them bloom.

Im still bitter GWS got Cam McCarthy at pick 12 before freos 1st pick last season.

Freo were keen in getting him considering they missed out on Jack Darling 2-3 years ago.

If Cameron goes back to Victoria, he will demand at least $750,000-$1,000,000 a year for 4-6 years.

GWS will demand a top 5 pick and an A-grade mid.

It's interesting. I would have thought they needed a KPD before a mid, but if they controlled the ball a little better, would their defence automatically improve ?

From a Dogs perspective, I would have thought the only players of interest would be (in no particular order) - Griffen, Libba, Roughead, Talia, Dahl.

Anyway, all this is purely hypothetical - I'm not convinced he's going anywhere....

I am convinced GWS will use their 1st round pick on a key defender.

Still doesn't help them next year. Look at Boyd and Patton, they'll take a couple more years to be really ready to make an impact. A KPD will take at least 3 - 4 years to be ready to stand the bigger key forwards...

I know that but its a start....

At least they have recruited wisely for the long term. It would of made a huge difference if they had an A-grade Key defender.

I'm not convinced he's going anywhere either - he's put in a hard couple of years, another couple and you'd have to think they'll be in the eight at least. Not guaranteed if he goes to some of the victorian clubs mentioned.

Having said that, a previous post on this thread mentioned Dahl plus our first round pick - if that got it done we should be all over it. But I suspect they would want Griffen or Libba, maybe Roughead, and we wouldn't (and shouldn't) do that.

Colours - Sheedy might like them, but simply put, they're not rallying anyone to the GWS standard. Wrong, just wrong.
What is the alternative? Just about anything else. Green, white, blue, violet (Blue Mtns), or any combination thereof. Just use an away jumper against the Dockers. But orange and charcoal - that's what comes out after a night on the fizz.

GWS have Patton and Boyd. A club offering a key position defender in exchange might just elicit some interest from GWS.

Cameron is a kid from the bush. After a few years at Breakfast Point in the city, I'd speculate that he's desperate to escape. This may just ease his asking price, and the kid shouldn't get too greedy.

Outcome: he'll end up at Geelong. If the Cats are sharp enough to do the deal. Alongside Hawkins, fans will lick their lips.
