The one on the right could pass for Harley Reid.

She looks fresh off the private school girl living in norwood, in a house decorated purely in white who has never experienced a single piece of adversity in her life but has an opinion on everything, production line.

So basically probably learned everything she knows about "journalism" from Elspeth.

Who'd a thought we'd be getting journalists even duller than C.Bond in this the great digital age

At least ol mate Caleb would think this whole thing is bloody political correctness gone bloody mad!

At this point they are just letting it go on and on and using Finlayson as their great chance to have all and sundry condemn homophobia qnd pontificate. They've basically deliberately hung Finlayson out to dry, and put him in the stocks to make them all feel good.

Dragging him around behind the chariot. We ended homophobia! Get on with it farken. The point is well past made.
They'll set a precedent, and send a strong message to the comp so that it isn't done again. Just like they did with SPP, that stopped high bumping in its tracks.... Oh except for with Webster, but his 8 weeker stopped it..... Oh except for the Peter Wright bump, but his 4 weeker definitely stopped it.... Oh except for when Pickett just randomly threw and elbow......

It's ridiculous that Clarkson's big and fair suspension, is now just constantly talked about as too small. Why? Because it wasn't enough of a deterrent? What a load of rubbish. Given the same circumstance, despite a higher penalty for Clarkson, I bet you Finlayson still has the same slip of the tongue.

It's shit, he shouldn't have said it, but as you say, this martyrdom is just friggin ridiculous. Give him a penalty on Monday night and move on. Dragging out till Wednesday is just pointless character assassination. I mean if he said that word to an actual gay guy, then maybe this sort of extreme comes into it, it'd be a whole new level to be assessed, but for what it was this analysis and everything has just been over the top. Give him a couple and a fine and move on.

Why did he have to apologise to the wider community? He should apologise to the person he said it to, and that should’ve been the end of it. Why is it anyone else’s business?
Because when you use a slur as an insult you are insulting a wider community.

It’s not like it was broadcast though? It was essentially a private conversation. Has nothing to do with anyone else other than the person he said it to.

My sister is gay, and she couldn’t care a less about what he said.

Pretty much true. If we're being honest it's the media's gleeful reporting of the incident that actually causes hurt and offends people.

The whole idea of the punishment is about general deterrence and more broadly setting a community standard that this is not acceptable. The apology is meaningless fluff.

If it wasn’t for a cows SANFL official reporting it Walker would have got away with it no accountability nothing how people are comparing the two is laughable.
Add to the fact that when the SANFL official reported it back to the club they did nothing. They were quite happy to sweep the whole thing under the carpet. Then the official had to report it to the AFL himself before it was dealt with.

Well that has always been their modus operandi. They must have a massive carpet at WL.

Has someone called her out on Twitter or something yet? This is first class f*ckery from her. Why is it every time these journos go after someone they themselves have done the exact thing if not worse.

Journos being held to account is my favourite part of Twitter or ‘X’ as Musk has called it. People keep the receipts and its amazing any of them have any credibility left.

The argument that what clarko said isn’t homophobic but Finlaysons is makes no sense.

Its not about the specific word its about the application of the word and context is key:

When Clarko said what he did to Webster, who is a male. What do they imply he was meaning? Its pretty obvious right, hes saying Webster performs sexual acts on men. Very clear to me that saying that to a man is calling them gay or a homophobic thing to say.

so when someone calls someone a dickhead it's very clear to you they think there's a dick on their head?

Rowe is no different, and Kelli underwood was quick to compare it to the Tex racism ban when she was grilling kochie over the weekend (she also barracks for the crows).

I’m sick of crows fan journos going after our players significantly harder than any other player and I’m sick of lines in the sand and new standards being set when our players do the wrong thing.

I’m also sick of us just accepting whatever comes our way and our supporter base seems to almost encourage it.

We are all being programmed to accept multiple games even though this has never happened for this sort of thing in the past.

If only there were flags for setting precedence.
