Hey just wanted peoples thoughts on Lewis Jetta's celebration in West Coast's demolition job on Sydney.
I don't generally mind players sticking it to the crowd, take Michael O'Loughlin in 2006 giving it to KFC guy. That was hilarious.
However it just seemed out of place today, due to the fact that his team was getting smashed with no hope of a comeback. The O'loughlin goal justified the celebration, as it was the winning goal in a tight final against a bitter rival. The celebration here just seemed a bit contrived and forced, like he was trying to copy his friend who is too holy for discussion on a mere football forum (he is not to be mentioned in this thread). The spear throwing looked a bit sad too, that just eggs the crowd on to keep booing and does nothing except reinforce some unfortunate mentalities (which will not be discussed in this thread as it is banned on the main board).
I'm not offended by the celebration. I just think it looks a bit silly to do it when your team is getting embarrassed.
A penny for your thoughts please.
