Absolutely the real deal.

Marks the ball at the highest point, reads the crumb, applies maniacal pressure, kicks well from the set shot and the standing start.

Proper footballer. God I hope his knees hold up. Love him.

I'll complain anytime I like - don't you oppress me !
By the way that blonk McLean missing that goal spoilt what could have been a great day .
He needs to be traded.

Ok Loretta.

Our list , despite some interesting (ie uninformed at best) comments during our trade and draft period is in by far the best shape I have ever seen it.

Oh and btw that is the reigning premiers list. Any of our supporters and I mean any of our supporters complaining about our trading, drafting or list are complete knobs with zero understanding of football in the 21st century.

We enter 2017 with no discernable weakness and have won a premiership. No guarantee on future premierships as they are bloody hard to win.

However, We have won one now can we win more.

Looking at our list, yes we can
But we will need luck along the way as all premiers do

Pretty sure suggesting we got under for hvorat and Stevens doesn't make me a knob and doesn't suggest I know nothing about footy. It just means I thought we got less than their worth - yes some extenuating circumstances were involved but not sure u need to go too hard there on people.

List is in brilliant shape all the same

Hey, lets talk about Dickson. Didnt he have some sort of jelly hip replacement or something? Doesnt that sound really serious to you guys? He is already in his late 20s and if he has this going on, it doesnt bode well for his longevity.

Maybe we will see him being rested semi regularly throughout the season with a view to keeping him fresh for the finals?

come round 1 he will be playing imo and will play all games unless a young player starts kicking x amount of goals in the vfl and dicko drops off

Played at StAlbans, Clunes, Olinda even a stint with Wormalds in the old mid week League where our oppo were army, police, fire brigade etc. Off field have held positions from President, Treasurer, Chairman of Selectors etc. established and coached an U/16 then u/18 teams, was senior Asst Coach and Runner. Was editor and chief writer for a Leagues football record, and a stint as a talent scout for the Eastern Ranges back when Chris Connolly was coach, who I also did my L2 Coaching course with. I tried to msg you this but couldn't edit the text short enough. Lol. And you ?

Fair CV. Being a TAC talent scout is a feather in the cap as I rate the ability to find talent as highly as being a good coach and having a good footy brain. The identification of what makes a good footballer almost goes hand in hand with how a good team plays.

Not as many clubs at my end. Been at the same EDFL club for 20+ years. A couple of premierships and some personal acheivments. Currently coach the reserves side.
Found a new love for the game after the playing days finished, you see the game differently when in a non playing role. It's quite refreshing.

I cant work Clay Smith out. He is a blunt weapon and not quick, but has knack for getting to the right spots. Seems like he has been around for ever, but due to his injury history he is a relative noob in terms of senior games.

Is he a flash in the pan or the real deal?
He makes really attacking running patterns, he gets on the move at stoppages and we forget that he is a super midfielder too. Against West Coast after Jong went down he went in there and tore it up in the middle. The way he attacks stoppages is second to none on our list. Can't be tackled, has that Ablett-like ability to shake the hips and brush off anyone trying to tackle. On top of that he is one of our best defensive midfielders cause he sticks all his tackles. His overall two way contribution, forgetting about disposal numbers or anything he gives with the ball is almost enough to be picked each week and have a positive impact. There are no concerns about Clay Smith other than potential injury concerns.

Loves a goal too.

clay smith is quick

Don't forget first goal in the prelim, he was involved in the play on half back/wing & followed it up all the way to kick a goal off a handball receive

I'd disagree slightly on Webb - IMO he has two key points of difference

1 - he would be one of the best kicks at our club (a club that has more than it's share of butchers by foot).

2 - he just doesn't tackle enough.

If he can rectify 2 - I reckon he plays.

Add Murphy, Suckling, Williams and Webb, and that changes our team significantly in regards to ball use by foot.

A lot of options.
As well as Lynch

Just had a chat with Picko, Fergy Ferg and Roarke.

Few tidbits:
Roughy's injury is where the hammy attaches to the knee, still unsure if it will need surgery.

Fergy is recovering from a foot injury and said the only JLT game he would have got a go in was JLT2 and he won't be ready by then.

Roarke has had some groin issues but is hoping to play a quarter against Brisbane (time limited due to being match unfit).

Picko also expects to play JLT2, said he was close to playing on Saturday.

Had a good chat to Fergus, really nice dude and told him he had plenty of fans of his twitter account.

If its a tear to the tendon, then it will most likely need some surgery - looks like 6 - 7 weeks on the sideline :-(

That'd be a good result, as soon as I saw it I thought ACL, best case PCL. It'll let BTC remind us how good he can be, maybe give Bront a run. Big Tom played some good footy last year. Quality tap ruckman.

yerp. we don't need Rough all year, but we need him to not be out for the whole year. BTC and Boyd can handle it
