People in the gun vote for themselves all the time to try and convince people they're not evil. In saying that, he could well be a random citizen.

The sun hung low over Shermer High as the citizens of Illinois gathered once more, their patience worn thin and their nerves on edge. The blame had shifted throughout the day, but by the time the final vote was cast, all fingers pointed to Sloane Peterson.

Ferris’ ever-cool girlfriend stood in the middle of the crowd, her usual poise shaken but still intact.

“Seriously?” she said, folding her arms. “You think I’m behind this? I’m the one trying to keep Ferris out of trouble half the time!”

Her protests fell on deaf ears. The citizens had made their choice. There was something just too perfect about Sloane—the calm demeanour, the effortless charm, the way she always seemed to fade into the background when chaos erupted.

As they closed in, Sloane let out a deep sigh. “Well, Ferris always said, ‘Life moves pretty fast.’ Guess he wasn’t kidding.”

But as the crowd moved to deliver justice, something changed. Sloane’s composure cracked, and for a fleeting moment, a feral glint flashed in her eyes. Her elegant stance shifted awkwardly, almost childlike, as she took a step back, fear and instinct mingling in her expression.

“I didn’t want this!” she whimpered. “Ferris said it’d be fun… that we’d be safe. He promised!”

Her voice wavered as her secret unravelled, but before the villagers could process her confession, it was over. The crowd stood silent as Sloane fell.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, a chilling realization swept over the group: the wolves had lost their cub, but Ferris and the rest of his pack were still out there, and they wouldn’t forgive this betrayal.

BEaston - Sloane Peterson (Cub) has been lynched. Night falls, and the remaining wolves howl in anger.
