What I noticed last night, they had plenty of inside 50's.. but maybe it was how it was being delivered, but it was getting in there at least. Dixon should not be playing. They only had 4 less inside 50's (53 v 57) but couldn't capitalise. Maybe thats the forwards. Maybe thats the delivery.

If I was a forward at Port I'd be more worried about how the ball was going to be delivered to me ..

They got consistent run and carry of the ball out of defence.

It was an interesting tactic to rely on givng away goals and getting the umpires to give tham that run and carry.

Almost every single inside 50 was bombed on their forwards heads. Often to outnumbered forwards. Many entries but horrible way of bringing it inside.

I certainly wouldn't be feeling excited about playing for them after that performance. So hopefully he feels the same way

Perhaps he'll wait to see if they move Hinkley on. That's what I'd be waiting for.

I feel like the club is dangling him out there as trade bait to get a solid pick, because we have a lot of small forward talent already. If we really wanted to retain him we would match the 3 years at the very least. We offered Frampton 3 years so why wouldn't you offer Richards who I think can be a good player, 3 years?
I would expect that if a club tries to under pay for him we may make that 3 year offer or threaten to, to up the offer.

Smart by us, imo. If a club wants him, pay up. If not, we keep him.

The club didn't rate Richards as best 22, so maybe they just don't rate him as much as the fans do?

Tbf, when he got injured in the Dockers game, that was a setback. Then he got ill when next selected.

For all we know, if he didn't get that injury, he may have played every game for the rest of the season, such was his form at the time.

When he was fit later in the season he either didn't play or was sub.

His form wasn't quite at the same level as it was before his injury, a bye or 2 in the VFL..it all contributed.

It's a shame he got injured when he did with other players returning. He may have kept them out if he didn't get injured.

Plus they were totally out-coached by Chris Scott who basically had all of his small to medium-sized players running non-stop in a forward direction & so continually getting behind the Port Adelaide defence & mid-fielders. Moreover if Geelong had kicked more accurately in the 1st half, then the final margin could have been greater than 84 points.

Cats have been doing that all year though. Their forwards clear out the forward line and then stream forward into space. I wouldn't know how to defend it, but I could have told Kenny that's what they'd do.

I don’t usually sit on the fence about players and keeping or trading but I’m genuinely on the fence. Last year I thought he was no chance of playing a game for us and this year we’ve seen some good games. He’s a role player which every team needs especially us but does he get us something else with a trade. along with the noble picks maybe we package them and get into the first round. I just don’t know on this one.
