How much longer is he out for? Love watching Corey play, and he makes the Geelong midfield so much more dynamic.

Just listen to Toncam (family friend of Joels)

And add a week ;):D

Sport 927's Adam White just tweeted:
CATS NEWS: Mark Thompson expects James Podsiadly and James Kelly will be available this week. Joel Corey will miss another three weeks

And then the Geelong advertiser wrote:
GEELONG midfielder Joel Corey has had surgery this morning to try and clean out his troublesome knee. Corey has been missing since Round 5, and coach Mark Thompson said he'd now miss another 3-4 games.

Joel Corey to miss up to a further month

Had surgery this morning.. Will miss 3-4 weeks, says the club.

James Podsiadly will return and James Kelly (leg) needs to get through training this week but should be fine to play.

Re: Joel Corey to miss up to a further month

That's ok. Get him right for when it matters..

Amazing to think that we actually have the cattle to not even worry about Rooke, Corey and Ottens. It is actually probably a blessing in disguise as it exposes Duncan, Hogan, Christensen, Podsiadly, West, and probably 1 or 2 more to realistic opportunites.

Hopefully all three can make it back into the selection fold towards the end of the year - history would suggest this maybe unreleastic though. Brad Ottens still the most crucial - but boy wouldn't you love to have Max and Corey out there beating up the pies again!

completely agree with this - I know that it is best to have your top 22 out on that park at all times, but if we are to have any kind of successful transition with minimal ladder drop, we need to get the kids experienced while the guns are still around - if that means resting the '99-'01 draftees so be it, and if it means overt caution with injured players like Rooke and Corey, then that's how it will be. Would like to see Gillies and maybe Taylor Hunt get opportunities in the second half of the season.

No surprise really...when Joel didn't play round 5 it was pretty clear the club was going to give him, like Max, a while to get right and not bring them back til later in the year. The only new news is the fact that he's had surgery again, which indicates the pre season operation hasn't solved his knee issues. Hopefully it comes good and we see him later in the year.
