Jack is an individual, a little eccentric and has a decent sized ego. All good traits in a full forward Capper, Lockett, Jackovich, Ablett, Taylor now even buddy and fev

Jack is always going to be a little eccentric and internal i think but thats not a reason to worry about him

Just on a personal level, hes either been to a solarium, or gotten a fake tan, and he has coloured his hair orange, and just all-round behaviour is very strange, which I'm sure others would agree with.

I think it's far more strange that this affects you on a personal level.

But on a footballing level, he just doesn't seem to be a Collingwood-type player in my eyes  I can't explain it, but he just doesn't fit in to the 22. I know we need his type of body and position but he just doesn't do the right things at odd times. He gave away a push in the back free kick, not once, or twice, but three times in the space of 45 minutes on Saturday night, and that is very stupid, from an AFL footballer.

He averages less than 1 a game, even after getting a raw deal on saturday.

And fwiw, it's much more sensible for a fwd to risk it and try to get away with an illegal push than to stand limply by and watch the defense run away with the ball. Travis Cloke could take a leaf out of JA's book here. Anthony's created a handful of goals this season with questionably moves which haven't been penalised, and other times locked the ball in.

Take a look at the Frees Against list for forward last year. Franklin/Hall/Fevola. The best goal-kickers tend to gamble with frees.

Thats a very fair point which I didn't think of.

But as others have said, I might be over-reacting, but he just seems like a strange character, and just doesn't seem like the other boys. Plus, his on-field antics can be a bit...different.. at times, compared to others. (Headbutting a crotch lol)
I suppose you'd prefer a team of robotic conformists?? Sort of like you maybe?

A little touchy? Is he your bed-buddy or something? Not allowed to start a discussion about it?

Ow the contradiction of this post. Do you want all the posters here to be robotic conformists? Sort of like...you maybe?

This isn't a troll, and you guys know I don't bad-mouth Collingwood players for no reason, but I'm genuinely concerned about this bloke.

I just don't see him as a type thats fitting into the Malthouse uncompromising, professional set up.

EDIT: This isn't just about Saturday night, its been on my mind for a few weeks.

The is an aura of Fevola-like personality about him IMO. When he is up and flying, he is almost unstoppable. But when he is having a downer, he becomes very selfish and almost a liability to the team in terms of giving away frees, not chasing, etc.

From what I have heard, there is a bit of FIGJAM about him too.

Jack definitely has that man-on-a-mission aura.:thumbsu: Fev sometimes has that, to a degree, but he looks too vacant for it work properly.

I think it was about 5 or 6 weeks ago the article came out talking about his difficulty personality and all the problems he has full of quotes from one of the coaches at the club.

When I was reading that article Im thinking why the hell would or did the club come out and reveal all this ...

Ever since then he's played like an absolute sub dud ....

Are you drunk this morning Understudy or is your grasp of the English langauge poor? Are you hitting rock bottom now that Eddie singed Bucks and MM and the Pies are top four and $6.50 for the flag?

Its all a conspiracy I say!!! Subterfuge from within the organisation!!! We have been infiltrated by Carlton sypathisers who believe the best way to bring the club to its knees is to print an article on Anthony knowing that he has such a brittle psyche IT WILL DESTROY HIM...... :D

13 goals this past 4 weeks, and he is out of form

If you mean this article, Undies,

Jack outside the box, Jay Clark | June 20, 2009

I don't see evidence of a "difficult personality". Rather, Jack comes across as an impressive individual with a great deal of self-belief. It may be harder for such people to operate in a team environment initially, but the article underlines how far he's come in this regard:

"But there has been a big change, he has matured at Collingwood, he is a team man and he doesn't look as arrogant."

And perhaps he's misunderstood in the way that Figjam Buckley was, as someone has suggested.

He's been off his game to degree, but the "sub-dud" comment is just shite.

Yeah, we've been bed-buddies for a while, but the relationship was getting stale, so I asked Jack to spice it up. Thus the changes.

Initially, we were going to try get Beams or Barham in for a menage-a-trois, but neither wanted to do it without the other, and our bed would never have fit all four of us.

Link to this story. (provided by Snag thanks)

I do recall a bit of talk about rumours about 8 weeks ago on this forum.
It mostly hinged on a poster claiming MM had told JA he would never play for Collingwood again if he through the ball over the boundary again.

JA himself admits he found it hard to get used to the "blokey" environment, but that he was getting used to it.

If this is the only negative thing we can find to concentrate on at the club then we are "friggen flying".

Go Pies. :thumbsu:

Do you have a visual for this? :)

Hes been torn to shreds by his opponents of late.

Hes always been a low possesion winner and now hes been missing shots on goal and wasting the few opportunities he gets.

He's lucky to have retained his spot.

Hopefully he can turn it around ...

The past month he had two matches with teen disposals, 18ish against hawthorn iirc

He will. He's a force of nature.

Not hitting scoreboard or creating enough spillages though.

Kickless against the doggies.

5 goals only in last 5 matches.

Gave 4 free kicks away against Brisbane.

A worry when cloke also struggling to kicks goals.

Happy dawes gets another opportunity this week to lend a helping hand ...

But a top 4 finish is looking good though
