I live away so have not seen Butcher play except on the abc, personally i have not been impressed with him. Talent normally shows itself, i would not be surprised if he is a failed pick imho. I hope i am completely wrong but as i said before talent is always readily identifiable and at this point i have not seen anything to get too excited about.
W Treadrae despite his kicking was always standing out from the pack this guy simply dosent!

As much as I'm looking forward to seeing him, I think you're probably right.

I havnt seen amazing things from him in the SANFL. But still im really looking forward to see how he goes this Saturday. This hype has had to come from somewhere right?

How often do W Tredrea's come along? It isn't like shelling Pea's there and I feel for the guy who is stepping into his Shadow and trying to create his own.

Isn't he 19? Lets see how he goes hey?

lmao from all the comments im reading here im doubting that anyone has even seen butcher play this year?

he has shown very little quickness, zero second efforts, and his chase and tackle inside the forward 50 was non existant

he crashes the packs well and brings the ball to ground which is great, alot of his goals have been cheap efforts on the goal line

and when this kid is lining up 45 meters out on any angle, then it could go anywhere

im excited to see him play and think we need to get games into him this year so im glad hes playing, but really, im not expecting much at all

just to clarify - this post above is not me jumping off - just me offering my opinions on what he will bring to the table this week/this season...

i am VERY excited about his future, all big men take longer to develop and he has star written all over him for the future. I just believe his development is going slowly and as such I dont expect him to be a factor in any game this season.

he very definitely needs to get games this season though, we and he will be better for it.....

Your comments about his quickness, second efforts and chase and tackle astound me. Every time I've seen him play these have been the outstanding parts of his game.

Sorry if I'm posting where I'm not welcome but I'm really hoping this kid makes it so hopefully things go well this week. Go luck to the guy hopefully he clunks a couple and kicks a goal or 2.

Exactly, thats why I'm excited to see him play! I think this selection has given us all some hope for the future, it's becoming more real now.

That's correct Sam50.

As Ford said Shame Moore couldn't get in but Jonas will be another interesting one to watch.

I'm looking forward to Newton and Young next year also. Plus our pick 4 or equivalent player :)

I agree wholeheartedly but tomorrow will present him to those who don't get along to Maggies' games and hopefully he'll make us look like dills.

The current Hawthorn defence is probably perfect for a young KPF to make his AFL debut.
Sure is different to Morgan's debut. Kudos to Primus. :thumbsu:

Jeez Powerstufff in the past month you've claimed he can't kick, mark, run, chase or tackle.

If he manages not to tie his laces together and fall over face first trying to run onto the ground he'll be ahead in your book. :p
