Phllips played probably his best game of the year. Wont be dropped any time soon.

And was still poor. Had 21 disposals with a team high 7 turnovers, DE% at 62%. Has to be under real pressure to hold his spot.

My biggest concern is he can’t kick over a jam tin, we carry too many players with with non damaging kicks.

Only had 1 clanger, equal team high in inside 50’s, 2nd in metres gained. Hasn’t been dropped since the early rounds of 2017, maybe Sidebottom’s return will put pressure on his spot but I doubt it

He only rates so high in meters gained because they don’t distract the meters lost with the footy coming back the other way from his turnovers. As an outside player who offers little defensively, when he’s getting 25-30 posies or more, has a de% north of 70%, and he’s hitting the scoreboard, his errors in disposal are mitigated, but it’s been a while since he’s been close to that.

Don't agree with you on Phillips, but agree that metres gained is a rubbish stat. With that stat teams only gain metres against the opposition when they kick a goal.

Gets ball. Attacks it well and tries hard.

But panics under pressure and has awful disposal unless hitting a 15m sideways chip kick. Sam Dwyer MKII
I think I was watching a different game. Either that or you got Treloar and Noble confused. Thought he kicked it well and was pretty composed. I think we've got a very nice player on our hands here. Seriously quick too.

Thought it was one of his best games so far. His quick hands in transition with players to move the ball forward. He was clean, didn't fumble. Very good. One of our better players.

I think that week he went back in the 2nds, helped him work on some things. Clearly its working.

He’s coming along nicely.

Might not have the longest kick, but neither does Caleb Daniel.

Good young player - makes you wonder, we burn late picks on 18 year olds and then pick up Mihocek and Noble in rookie and mid-season drafts.
Really need to be going to the state leagues more with throwaway picks.

completely agree Treloar is the most overpaid footballer in AFL .. a downhill skier - plays ok when we are winning but when we are under pressure he buckles into a panic mer,as demonstrated in last 2 games hand passing consistently to players with a oppo player on their back etc etc.. Noble has been ( for his experiences ) one of our better players.
