Jolly to Collingwood done deal

Re: Darren Jolly is a Magpie.

Well, DJ has done a lot of work on his own in the last few years and we now look like having a younger ruck division to take us to a new era.

Thanks Jolly and I hope all that hard work hasn't worn you out...

Would hate to see another Swans-Pies ruck swap situation (ala Graham Teasdale) where you hardly get on the field for the Pies :p

Re: Darren Jolly is a Magpie.

Sydney got reamed, especially considering Hawthorn should have been throwing their first rounder at them.

Why, is Paul Roo's lying?

Show me where in that article that Paul Roo's said the deal was done. Not saying it isn't and if it is elsewhere reported I'll say well done to Collingwood, but last night Brown was playing for Port. And Jim Wilson is such a fantastic journo.

Re: Darren Jolly is a Magpie.

Good Deal for us. We definitely paid unders. Interesting to see if josh stays now. If he does, hopefully he can play as a permanent forward.

Collingwood traded away a 1st round pick for 28 year old, the swans have done well

Brock....................McLean ring a bell?:D

Melbourne did extraordinarily well.

Pies paid exactly what they had to, no more, no less.

Good deal.

Odds are now Carlton will trade Fev to Sydney for a first round pick and steak knives.
Or you could stay with the "deal" you got from Brissy.

Roos was interviewed by Mark Fine on SEN about an hour ago. He confirmed it was a done deal.

Brock McLean is not 28 though, he's only 24 next season. ;)

Re: Darren Jolly is a Magpie.

Don't see how Sydney got dicked here. Next year will probably be Jolly's last at the level he is playing at now and probably only has 4 years tops to play. Can't see Sydney challenging for a flag in that time.

Now they have the chance to pick up very good 12 year player. Pick 46 isn't great but serviceable players often come out that late, even in "shallow" drafts.

Re: Darren Jolly is a Magpie.

Paul Roos has literally gone mad. Eddie must have promised a spot on Millionaire Hot Seat if he accepted the ridiculously shit offer.

Full credit to Collingwood. An absolute steal, and if only Port were as easy to deal with as Sydney. We would have had this Burgoyne disaster sewed up before 12pm on Monday.

Well there u go..more confirmation these two clubs just dont stuff each other about and get it done regardless...as discussed to death already we may have seen a touch of squaring up going on for previous trades. No way of knowing and wont hear anything more till well after trade week ends if ever.

Does seem on the cheap side but at least its done and both now have ample time to get on with what else they want. Might be a sign Syd (Pies too) are each pressing for something else and needed the time to do it.

Either way Hawthorn fans better be damn happy with Burgoyne and the bloke better produce the goods. They missed a good one. Either they are on a solid handshake with Burgoyne that they cannot now dishonour or they dont feel Sydney will even trade with them this yr...minimal contact between the two it seems.

Can live with it...was good for us and good luck to him.

Fair deal in IMO. Collingwood and Sydney know how to trade 'fairly' without any bullshit. Jolly is a great ruckman but surely only has a 2 good years in him before he starts slowing down. Mumford is packing his bags, I'd happy with all this :)

That's the feeling I get too.
