Jolly to Collingwood done deal

WOW this is not much more than what the Pies had to give up for C Wood

True. Jolly is a gun while Wood is an okay ruckman with a bit of potential. But, Jolly is 28 while Wood is far younger. It is probably a fair trade, but Collingwood will be much improved next season. I would rather have Jolly than Burgoyne, so Port should accept Pick 9 and a peripheral player while they still can.

Re: Darren Jolly is a Magpie.

Can't get over this trade...

What makes it more bewildering is the fact Hawthorn couldn't come to the party for him instead or as well as getting Burgoyne.

What having a ruckman with 2 years left on his contract????? Roos should have done alot better.

hopefully there is a bigger picture with kennedy, mumford, mcglynn.

I meant the position Jolly had put you in, I know he had a contract, but he was clearly pretty adamant he wanted to be back in Melbourne.

Take it with a grain of salt, but there was word he'd hang up the boots if he didn't get traded.

Collingwood and the Swans have a good trading history and this only reaffirms that I think, the trade ended up getting completed without much hassle. I still don't really see how it is that unfair anyway, like I said, I would have been pretty surprised if any clubs were willing to trump the offer...
I also imagine you guys will be singing a different tune (and rightfully so probably) if we don't win a premiership with Jolly there. Also not forgetting you guys were screaming red and blue about the Rhyce Shaw trade last year and Roo's seemed to know what he was doing then, I doubt this will be any different.

I genuinely hope you blokes use the pick and get Jack Grimes v2.0, I've always liked Sydney :thumbsu:

Re: Darren Jolly is a Magpie.

No more Chris Bryan at the Pies then it seems.... Fraser and Jolly will be the main two with Wood in reserve.

True. And I think it was about time we got the better end of the deal after how many times we've bent over for Sydney to get players to them that wanted to move.

Wow cant believe the Swans agreed to this for a contracted player. Well and truly r*ped on this one.

I've posted this in other threads, but what the hell, Jolly said he wouldn't play at Hawthorn. No point chasing him when he won't sign a contract with you. The Pies have been buttering him up for months in the same way we've been talking to Burgoyne.

Pick 14 or PSD!

(Am I doing it right?)

More oomph and profanities. You haven't insulted Sydney, South Melbourne and their fans yet. Poor effort.

Good trade for both team. Collingwood gets an awesome ruckman, Sydney gets another first round pick. I'm disappointed we'll be losing Mummy, but I'll be happy if he's all we lose during the week.

We have a good trading history so i was pretty confident that Jolly would be a pie, just glad it was a relatively smooth trade for both clubs.

Only big name left is Fev or Lake if he doesn't sign soon.

Congrats Pies. Nice to see a trade handled smoothly. (Port are you watching?)
Are you?

Today Port agreed to pick 9 and a player that was not on your 'untouchables' list, ie. We (Hawthorn) will agree to the trade if you choose a player not on this list. When the player in question declined the trade (which he is within his rights to do), Hawthorn immediately went on the defensive and claimed he was never put up for trade to begin with, which is in fact untrue. Port have done nothing wrong at all.

So who is playing games?
