Jonathon Griffin asks for a trade

I cant believe anyone would believe this. I reckon Greg Denham has got his Griffin to Freo idea from this thread and put it in his article

Freo have Sandilands, Gilmore, Bradley and will soon have Natanui as ruck options. Warnock may be gone but they dont need to trade for one. The big problem for Freo was that Warnock couldnt get a game. Why would it be any different for Jonathon Griffin. When you have a guy like Aaron Sandilands you can afford to play just one ruckman and use a tall forward to substitute for 5 mins a quarter like Gilmore or Bradley.

Griffin isnt as noble and as good a bloke as he looks. He is happy to sulk and moan till he gets his way. Infact its all hes done since he lost his spot. Adelaide will reluctantly do the deal because they dont want to witness the aftermath

Colin Young sure knows how to pick the whiny ones doesn't he. Fremantle should be doing everything they can to steer clear of his 'clients'.

A Griffen pubic hair > Fremantle

Brett Burton's naisal hair > Western Australia

Back in your hole until your team wins something you dueche.

say what you like about freo but your comment about WA shows your ignorance which must be of the highest order.

I mean come on, you do realise that Adelaide is the joke of the nation right ?

Embers, you're forgetting that Gilmore and Bradley are terrible, terrible players and Naitanui probably won't make it to their pick. So unless they want Kepler Spudley in their best 22, they would love to have Griffin.

Bradley has had no ruck coaching previously. He has potential to learn enough to be a solid back-up to Sandilands. You don't need to have two top tap ruckmen.

Fremantle need good midfielders ahead of rucks. They have also shown an ability to identify ruck talent at any stage of the draft. Pick up one or two and put them on the rookie list if you can.

Meeting was held between Griffin and Adelaide yesterday to sort out his future. Adelaide are making last ditch bids to keep him from going. From what I heard a very nice looking contract extension was shoved under his nose but its still not near the coin Fremantle are offering. From what I gather also Griffin doesnt get along with many at the Crows and is bit of a outcast. Wants to return to W.A to be with his family but also wants to ensure Crows dont get screwed because of the faith they have shown in him

If this is the case Freo will have to trade over the odds value to get his services. Adelaide don't want to lose him and will make Freo give up something big to consider a trade.

Something like
Pick 3 and second round pick
for pick 10 and Griffin.

Or Adelaide simply keep him

Seems possible if Freo dont cough up the change. Your idea is just ridiculous. Get some psychiatric help mate

The deal will be Pick 20 + a small sweetner I feel.

Like I said Adelaide will make Freo pay alot more as they don't want him to go. He is contracted for another year. That package deal I made up is something stupid to make freo back off

3rd rumour started with this guy.

We were offering contracts were we?

Funny, he's contracted and that woudn't happen for another few months, and that's IF we want to talk EARLY extention. This isn't the NFL champ, clubs don't usually offer extensions until 2-6 months before season end on the last contract year.

Only unprofessional clubs would let a unhappy players contract run out. Your deluded if you think Griffin is gonna stay when Fremantle are willing to triple his current wages. As I said he wants to move back to Freo for family reasons but the money more then helps in this case.

Adelaide think if they throw the cash at him they can prevent him from leaving. I seriously doubt it will change anything. Anyway all my so called rumors have ended up in the papers just like I promised...

Club would be stupid to give in to every little SUGGESTED cry a player has.

As a previous poster mentioned, if Freo want him, and want to pay some big cash for him, they can pay some serious price for him. Otherwise enjoy having Gilmore (like him but he isn't a pure ruck) as your back up for a year.

Starting price if you want to grab an uncontracted young ruck prospect (and it's Freo) would be about Freo's first and a 2nd/3rd for Griff and #10.

Don't like it.....Wait till next year

Unlike you I neither claimed he was staying nor going. I mearly claimed you were full of rectile excrament.

You don't offer extentions to players with < 50 games to their name over a year before their contract runs out.

You don't accept anything other than market value times 1.5 or time 2 for a trade involving a contracted player.

You don't accept anything less than that for a 22 year old either.

You also don't accept less than that for big men.

Put that all together and Freo can drop to the old knees.

Unlike Warnock he ISN'T contracted and the team that wants him ISN'T the #1 pick in the PSD.

Craigy came out and stated they do not want to trade Jon, that he is required at this club and part of his future.

I'm not saying that he doesn't want to go home, but if he does, Freo can pay top dollar times 2 or wait until his contract expires.

You dont offer contract extensions to players worth according to you a top 3 pick. Are you sure your not a gymnast?

Was a swap of 3 for 10, dont chose which section of my post you use. and remember contracted players value is 1.5-2 times more than thier worth.

What Adelaide think he is worth is nothing I know. All I know is what Fremantle will be looking to offer and that is pick 20 along with a upgrade of Adelaides third rounder to a 2nd rounder. Whether they accept it or not has nothing to do with me
