Frawley having a bad year is only something I have heard from Collingwood fans and Damian Barrett. I still can't make sense of it.

Probably 1: Hogan
2: Danniher
3: Boyd
4: Patton

really hard to say as boyd and hogan haven't been exposed to AFL footy yet, patton's knees easily drop him till last.

All 4 have top 5 in the AFL potential but 3/4 of them won't make it, Patton probably because of his knees, hogan because of melbournes lack of ability to develop players danniher and boyd it remains to be see what they will become.

Hogan played pretty well in the NAB. Obviously I don't need to say it's not the same as the season proper. But if you can go and watch him against north and richmond, both those teams were playing to win and Hogan stood up IMHO.

Yep. I actually don't see him kicking huge bags in an ideal scenario though.

With Clark at FF, I want Hogan racking up his 20 touches and banging it in long to Clark. Switching with him at times. Hogan is an accumulator for a CHF, and a damn good field kick. Clark is an excellent contested mark and finisher. If Hogan sets up a tonne of goals and kicks 2 a game himself, I'll be freakin wrapped.

Paul Roos and George Stone have a pretty good track record with that kinda stuff.

It's much bigger than a senior coach thing

You'd be naive Paul Roos can walk in and turn a club around in 1 off season.

I'll believe Melbourne can develop young talent when they actually start doing it, until then it's all baseless hope

Bump

Good to see McBean get a crack at AFL level, even if it is a practice match.

How did he go

I don't want to say to much or it could be considered as trolling.
but he did get 1 kick in 43% game time, got beaten quiet a few times 1 on 1.
easily worst on ground.
Maybe it was how awesome Melbourne defence was.

Patton and Boyd are on the same team, which has Jeremy Cameron on it. Can't see them 2 become absolute stars at GWS. The most i'd expect from them is a Chris Dawes 2010-2011 if they are still at GWS.

Can't see them doing a roughy/gunston/franklin thing? I can

Most teams don't can't do that.

Buddy and Roughy and Guntson are totaly different forward anyways. Roughy is a traditional FF, Gunston is a third tall and Buddy is Buddy.

Patton and Boyd are similar (that's why they are both on this list isn't it) the only difference is Cameron who will probably get most of their goals.

Eh, I can see Cameron playing the Gunston role, Patton playing the Roughy role and Boyd doing a sort of Cloke role

Cameron can't play small as well as Gunston. Patton isn't as ahletic as Roughy and if Boyd plays a Cloke role than he won't kick any goals because modt of the delivery is going to Cameron and Patton already.

Disagree Cameron could easily play Gunston's role but ultimately you're right I can't see all 3 of them playing in the same forward line unless Boyd gets shoehorned into the forward ruck role.

I can see Boyd playing second ruck he is about 200cm, but i don't Boyd and Patton having 60 goal+ seasons at GWS with Cameron in the team.

Call bullshit on the first two. Cameron is very versatile and has the leg and nous to play small. Patton was rated so highly because he's both a man mountain and very athletic.

Yeah had no idea why Richmond supporters were trying to push a skinny, undeveloped kid who frankly looked scared of his own shadow against Melbourne as some future star. Maybe when this thread crops up in the pre-season of 2016.
