Based on junior form where would Darling rate amongst these guys?

Daniher only played about 10 games in 2 years before entering the AFL, so pretty hard to line up.
1 thing I can guarantee you though none of these guys would slip past a top 3 selection, if they were available in the draft.

How Darling fell through the draft is crazy. Darling has been awesome.

If I were constructing a forward line I'd have Hogan, Daniher and Boyd. Don't know if Patton's knees will hold up.

So Jesse is born 12/2/1995? Jesus even younger than I realised. Makes his VFL form (and his aggression) even more impressive.

Boyd is only 6 months younger. Really hope these two both come on as expected.

You may be the first club to play 5 ruckmen seeing the level of quality. Shaun hampson first choice ofcourse

Mcbean is a 170cm forward pocket in a 200cm body

What a crock of horseshit. You have what seen Mcbean play what once? and that's me giving you credit you don't deserve. Ease up on the gear mate, its doing funny stuff to your brain :p

Goals>>> marks

Seriously though I don't know anything about McBean apart from his hilarious surname.

He played VFL last year yeah? What was his return like? Would anyone genuinely claim he was as good as say, Jesse Hogan?

In fairness, he does appear to be a bit of a talent, and will be a player once he learns to properly use his height, instead of playing like the world's lankiest forward pocket. If he can learn to mark properly, I suspect he will be better than Daniher.

That said, Jesse Hogan is going to be the best of this bunch, despite being the shortest. He is an absolute freak, who could even spend time on the ball a la Roughy this year.

Well I don't want to curse him, but I'm quietly confident about Hogan being the best.

Its like that Rick James skit from Chappelle's Show. He has an aura or whatever, I seen it. It was orange.

Seriously though, his body is perfect for a big forward. But its his mental attitude, he's a genuine big angry forward, doesn't take shit and loves the physical stuff. And he's going to learn from two good forwards in Clarke and Dawes (unfairly maligned imo).

Kicking motion is a bit odd, but can't argue with the results.

McBean aside, I think Hogan will be better than Boyd and definitely better than Daniher.
Jesse Hogan's attack on the football alone puts him ahead of those two players.
As we've seen with Daniher, it's hard to judge whether youngsters will automatically make the transition from juniors to AFL - and I don't think Jesse Hogan will miss a beat.

I was keen to see him due to the hype. But he didn't play for Coburg when Port played them in the last round. From the VFL people I speak to say that he was very impressive. Would expect him to play a bit next year although he was quite skinny. So hopefully gets a big pre-season and can produce for the Tigers.

That's kind of what it is for me with Hogan. There's pretty much nothing I'd change about his game already. As long as he can physically match it with the AFL level defenders (and I'd back him on that front), he should slot right in.
