We have a midfield full of geriatrics. The forward line and backline are our least geriatric lines
You’ve got them all over the place. You guys have already shown an interest in Brander, if both players wanted out I can see a trade happening quite easily. Happy just to keep Brander though. Not many 195cm+ players can pick up a ball off their toes at full pace and cover positions all over the ground.

We showed an interest in Brander a millennia ago in footy terms, the list has moved on. If you put a line through kpf and kpds over 30 on our list you find their replacements are pretty much already on the list. Hendo/Blitz out of the backline and Kreuger/SDK come in. Hawkins out of the forward line and Sav comes in.

Put a line through the over 30s through the midfield on the cats list and the replacements are not close to being ready. Trading out a midfielder for a kp player would just be silly at this point. Clark may end up at the Eagles but Brander is not coming to the cats.

You won’t be getting anything higher than a pick in the 30’s in this case. Win for us.

You’re also not considering that Sav, Rohan and Cameron are all made of tissue paper. Branders versatility would be an asset

We have an 18 year old picked at 20 in our side now.
Only 1? I’d expect you’re much more likely to have Brander pulling on the boots on match day before any kid you get in this years draft. As I said previously, if it cost us a pick in the 30’s to get Clark, while keeping Brander it would be best case scenario for us.

Fine with us I can tell you.

Brander would be more of a Tuohy replacement at half forward.

Where exactly is brander going to play at the cats? I don't think anyone is arguing that you should be getting rid of Brander. I mean, your KPF stocks make ours look like spring chickens.

In any case this is a thread about the contracted cats player Jordan Clark. Perhaps we need to move on

Hawkins, Cameron, Rohan, Ratugalea are a significantly older combination than Kennedy, Darling, Allen, Waterman, Williams

That's a response that makes a bit more sense. Although I think we have a fair few we're rotating through there. I still think it makes sense for the Eagles to keep Brander given the games investment. I mean you play 3 kpfs and Kennedy is 34 in like 3 weeks. Clark for us makes sense as a keep because we have so many wing players over 32. I just don't see a trade being in any way beneficial for either of us.

Waterman is a KP player? Isn't Williams a ruckman? Allen is younger than Rohan yes but Rohan is a bit of a different player and I don't think we'd replace him with a KP sized player.
Waterman is a kpf, Williams is a fwd/ruck. Ryan also plays out of the goal square often when Kennedy isn’t there

Hawkins - 33
Cameron - 28
Ratugolea - 23

Kennedy - 33
Darling - 29
Allen - 22

They are the only ones that actually matter. If you are using Waterman & Williams might as well throw Sam De Koning & Neale in for us to drop the average.

With Cameron & Ratugolea we are not in an immediate need of a KPF even without Hawkins.

Brander might have some use as a key defender but I would prefer to just use Sam De Koning from next year.
