He's a ******* idiot.

The US courts are the different beast then here. Being an AFL player will made no difference
People keep saying this, and I agree with him not getting any mercy due to being an AFL player, but celebrities and rich people (by their standards, not just ours) commit serious crimes all the time over there and cop absolutely nothing. Maybe a slap on the wrist and two weeks in "rehab".

How'd he get out of Australia?

He was training in the US at the W academy as part of his Monster sponsorship.

How he got through the government net? Dunno, I’d imagine there were strings pulled with Collingwood + Monster -> AFL -> Australian Government.

Might explain why Collingwood seem to be a bit seething over this.

Probably won’t come to much …. Based on what ????

Were you there ?
So many of your posts on various issues suggest that you were an eyewitness, you sure do get around . By weight of numbers one day one of your “expert” opinions will be right .

ok ill preface all my comments as "based on what we have read" which seems obvious right?

None of us were there and none of us have seen the ctv - but it doesnt seem necessary to say that every single post does it? Its fairly obvious isnt it?

What is being reported is:

1. The mate did the glassing
2. The victim did not have serious injuries

so based on that (if its true) - it might not amount to much.

But nice melt

maybe his defence will be the "monster made me do it"

monster - dance all night! fight all morning!

Oh gee, wow, I've never heard of a sex assault case for which there was no direct evidence, and people were stuck with 'she said vs he said'! (or 'they said vs they said' in this case I presume)

Next you'll be telling me the girl didn't even want to go ahead with a complaint!! (because she didn't want to relive it, and felt the system was stacked against her anyway)

What you have described is literally the problem with sexual assault cases, and why people have been begging for reforms.

If what you are saying is true re. the AFL's handling of this case, it simply strengthens my opinion that they need a some kind of internal inquiry, with Grace Tame or someone of that stature, to advise them of how to do better in the future.
Not sure if you are joking?

But if you comparing the bolton thing to a serious sexual assault involving trauma that is pretty off colour.

Are you seriously suggesting the girl suffered a genuine sexual assault but the afl decided to fine bolton 20k and the cops just let it all go?

Sorry - but this nonsense is disrespectful to serious sex assault victims.

Pull your head in. Just because you like some footy players from your team doesnt mean you can invent some ridiculous to tale to make out they are a hero.

A bit.
This isn’t even self sabotage.
It is a character flaw that cannot be corrected.

“Fortress Australia” is a bit of a myth.

Several months ago, just before lockdown 6 here in Victoria, a girl I know was able to leave the country, compete in the CrossFit Games in the USA and then return like a week or so later. She did hotel quarantine (I’m assuming at her own expense) and was back.

Made no sense to me when we’ve had people stranded overseas for over a year trying to get back. As it was just before lockdown 6, the vaccination rates weren’t that high.

So essentially, if she can get in and out, JDG would’ve had no issues.

Gets to somehow get out of the country for a boozy, drug fuelled end of season footy trip disguised as promotional work whilst Aussies are being denied the oppurtunity by ****wit bureaucrats to cross internal state borders to visit dying loved ones. And please AFL/Collingwood spare us the PR mental health spin with this one.

Outside the illegal stuff he did the fact that he went partying is a bit of a middle finger to everyone who allowed and made it happen the whole fitness trip to the states

Ha, I quickly scanned your post and thought it said as part of his masters scholarship. How silly of me.

Collingwoods fault that this has happened. They’ve shown time and again if you can play you can basically do what you like. Eddie the master of the cover up.

Cost StKilda a flag but I’m glad we removed Lovett immediately after his actions

You mean the actions that he was found not guilty of?

What’s the bet he’s still trotted out round 1 to the adulation of the 7 commentary team
No chance

Similar to Lovett he is done in the AFL, at least for a couple of years

Club might throw him a lifeline if he does get his shit together after that, but I wouldn’t be going near him with a ten foot pole

I wonder how his mate was able to get over there.

Not guilty does not mean innocent. Crimes of a sexual nature are notorious for being difficult to prosecute.

But it also doesn't mean he committed a sackable offence. Don't get me wrong I know Lovett is a massive campaigner but St Kilda ****ed it up and had to pay a massive settlement to Lovett.

To claim it was well handled by the club is a farce. How pies are doing it right now is spot on
